I am writing to formally complain about an extremely unpleasant experience I had at your store involving cashier Shelly (Cashier #0214) at Register #4 at approximately 8:19 PM.
From the moment I entered her checkout lane, Shelly displayed an unfriendly and hostile attitude toward me. While checking out, I was holding my phone in my hand and was on a video call with my husband and daughter. As she scanned my groceries and placed them on the counter, I was trying to help move the bags into my shopping cart. Because I was holding my phone in my palm, I was using my remaining fingers to carry the bags.
At that point, Shelly abruptly stopped and asked whether I had a camera on and if I was filming her. I immediately told her no. She then claimed that she could see herself on my phone screen. I explained that I was on a video call with my husband and daughter and that I was simply carrying my groceries while holding my phone. Despite my explanation, she continued repeating the accusation and questioning me in a confrontational manner.
After I completed my payment, her behavior became even more unprofessional. She handed me my receipt with obvious hostility and stared at me aggressively. She then repeatedly said, "What are you looking at? What are you looking at?" in a threatening aggressive tone. I was confused by her behavior. She continued repeating the statement as though she was attempting to provoke a confrontation.
I then told her that she had been giving me attitude from the beginning of the transaction and that employees who interact with customers should not behave this way. Instead of de-escalating the situation, she yelled at me to "Get out." When I told her I would be filing a complaint, she replied, "Go ahead."
I then requested to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, the manager's response was equally disappointing. Rather than addressing the behavior I had just experienced, he simply told me, "Sorry, but she's the best cashier here. I can't do anything. If you want to complain, come back tomorrow at 7 AM for Smith." No meaningful apology was offered, no effort was made to investigate the incident, and no concern was shown for how I had been treated as a customer.
I am extremely disappointed by both the cashier's behavior and management's response. No customer should be subjected to hostility, accusations, intimidation, or disrespect while simply shopping for groceries. Equally concerning is the apparent unwillingness of management to address employee misconduct when it is brought to their attention.
Because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable shopping at this Food Lion location and do not intend to return. I believe customers deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism, not what I have been through with her nasty and aggressive attitude.

In my rush to get to get to work I made a quick stop for snacks. I grabbed my items, spoke to employees I knew and waited in the quick check out. The cashier never said anything word. Just kinds snatched my items, scanned them and stood there. I thinking rude the way she put my stuff down. After I completed my payment, I said bless you and walked away. It doesn't cost to be kind. Especially when I observed how friendly she was to the customer before me. But okay.

Listen food Lion I am going to say what others have not said. Why is there brown meat out for customers to buy? This is unacceptable I have since taken my services to Harris Teeter in Indian Land. You have to do better putting out old meat for customers poses a serious health hazard.
