For the ghetto fabulous Tacobell experience. Review: Taco Bell (Irmo Location)
I have lived in Irmo for eight years, and unfortunately, this location has consistently been a disappointment. While the food is average for the chain, the overall management and operational standards are severely lacking.
Facility and Maintenance
The physical state of the restaurant is concerning. There has been a persistent leak from the soda or ice machine for at least five years. Always have standing water on the floor under at least 1/3 of the seating area. Despite seeing repair technicians on several occasions, the issue remains unresolved, which suggests a lack of investment from the franchise ownership.
The restrooms are frequently in poor condition, often lacking basic necessities like soap and paper towels. Furthermore, the sink fixtures are poorly maintained, making it difficult for guests—and presumably staff—to maintain proper hygiene. Explain to me how the staff wash their hands with no soap in the restroom?
Service and Professionalism
The service culture at this location is unprofessional. On my most recent visit, I waited at the register for over ten minutes while the staff engaged in loud horseplay and used inappropriate language in the kitchen. When I was finally acknowledged, I was abruptly told to use the kiosk rather than being offered assistance.
There is a noticeable lack of pride in both personal appearance and the upkeep of the dining area. The staff appears disinterested and inattentive, creating an environment that feels disorganized and uninviting.
Final Assessment
When comparing this establishment to competitors like Chick-fil-A, the disparity in service, cleanliness, and customer experience is stark. While I value a diverse and representative workforce, the lack of professional standards and basic workplace decorum here is a significant deterrent. This experience was the final straw, and I will no longer be patronizing this establishment.
