  Unfortunately, we never even made it to the food. We had a reservation, but our table wasn’t ready, so we decided to sit at the bar. From the moment we sat down, the bartender completely ignored us. When we finally asked if we could order food at the bar, he looked at us and sarcastically replied, “That’s what people do. They order food at a restaurant and they eat.” He then walked away and continued to ignore us. After waiting and trying unsuccessfully to get his attention, we finally gave up and left to eat somewhere else. It’s disappointing to be treated so rudely, especially when we had a reservation and were simply trying to enjoy a meal. We can’t comment on the food because we never got the chance to try it, but the service we received was enough to make us take our business elsewhere.

  We happened upon Alexander's while in town and it became our favorite stop. The atmosphere was great. Round tables are perfect for group conversations. Angela was the most attentive and genuine person you could get. Loved her service. The meals were so incredible, didn't need a knife to cut through their beef. Just melts into your mouth. We were last to leave and never made to feel like we were being rushed out. They even took time to take our group pic! Another shout out to Angela. You're amazing!

  I am an ex-corporate restaurant manager, operator and training manager, so I try to be objective and consider all that could be happening inside the movement of the restaurant. This experience spoke to me as insufficient training of staff. I sympathize and appreciate the honest review given by the couple celebrating their son's anniversary on September 13th. You can't correct what's wrong if you don't receive honest feedback. Our experience was very similar except the female manager did comp my friends Prime Rib. Our server was, well, ill trained. She didn't understand table visits or what to do with a negative response to the meal unfortunately that hurts her monies. I hope this review is constructive and not taken as critical but honest. These are not reasons to not eat here, but, an opportunity to do better.

  This was our first time to dine at Alexander’s. It definitely won’t be our last. The hostess Jill was friendly, welcoming and started the experience off right! Sat on the indoor patio and had a wonderful view with great atmosphere. Donna was our server. She made recommendations and answered our questions. She was a very nice person who made you feel like she was excited that you had come for dinner. You could tell that she enjoyed working at Alexander’s. The food was amazing. We had calamari and the fresh fish special of halibut. The wine and cocktails complemented our meal. This will be a regular dinner spot for us when we come to HHI. Thanks again to Jill and Donna for making this a memorable experience!!!

  We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary with my husband, our 1-year-old, and my in-laws, expecting the level of service and food you would associate with a fine-dining establishment. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. Our evening began with a waiter who was rude and condescending, which immediately put a damper on what was supposed to be a special occasion. Then came the food — and unfortunately, it only got worse. We waited approximately 1.5 hours for our dinner to arrive, which is already a long time when dining with a 1-year-old. When the food finally came, the prime rib was undercooked and the salmon was completely raw. The pasta dishes were extremely underwhelming and tasted more like something you would get at an inexpensive pizza restaurant than at a place presenting itself as fine dining. The manager offered to have our meals recooked. While we appreciate the offer, after waiting an hour and a half for our food in the first place, expecting a family with a 1-year-old to sit around and wait even longer for replacement meals was simply not a reasonable solution. We were also offered dessert. At that point, after being served multiple unacceptable meals, the last thing we wanted was more food. What was particularly disappointing was the handling of the situation. The only thing they offered to comp was the completely raw salmon. Considering the overall experience — the rude service, extremely long wait, undercooked and raw food, and poor quality of the meals — that felt inadequate. This was supposed to be a special anniversary dinner with our family, and instead it became an extremely frustrating and disappointing evening. For a restaurant that positions itself as fine dining, the food, service, and handling of a serious issue with the meal fell far short of what we expected. We will not be returning.
