    On June 15, 2026], I visited Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Hardeeville SC with my son, who is autistic. I attempted to place an order through the drive-through, but no one ever responded at the speaker despite waiting. Assuming there was a problem with the system, I drove to the pickup window to place my order. The employee at the window told me that I would have to drive back around and get in line again rather than assisting me. I then went inside to speak with the manager. I calmly explained what had happened and informed him that I intended to contact corporate, and I felt it was only fair to give him a heads-up before doing so. Unfortunately, the manager did not apologize, express concern, or indicate that he would address the situation. Instead, he simply asked for my order. Throughout the interaction, several employees appeared rude and unprofessional. There were facial expressions, laughing, and what I perceived as mocking or hostile looks directed toward me and my son. As a parent of a child with autism, I found this especially upsetting. Regardless of whether the employees were aware of my son’s diagnosis, customers should be treated with respect, courtesy, and professionalism. The overall experience left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I am disappointed not only by the initial drive-through issue but also by the lack of concern shown by the manager and staff when the situation was brought to their attention. I hope this complaint is taken seriously and that additional training is provided regarding customer service, professionalism, and respectful treatment of all guests. I don’t plan on dining at this location for a long time and I urge you to do the same.

    Messed up my order completely. I ordered veggie hummus with no onions and received a wrap with Zero hummus and bunch of onions!!

    I got an açaí bowl here recently that had a completely rotted banana on it. I couldn’t believe they served it to me. But the bigger issue for me is the service when I come there within an hour of close. The doors are always locked by 8 with the lights and open sign turned off when they close at 9. They seem frustrated but direct us through the drive thru if it’s 8 or later. A few times I came at 8:30ish and they told me the food was already put up. Do they close at 9 or 8?

    This experience was so sad! The lady serving us was extremely rude. Could barely hear her and made it very Unenjoyable to be there it was a girl with the glasses and had dark hair with blonde highlights. She was so rude and didn’t even acknowledge us for like 15 minutes and the place was empty. She saw that we were there and we even said hello and she ignored us.
