Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Clean restaurant that served up a great burger and fries. Had not eaten at a Whataburger in quite a few years. This place did not disappoint.

Food was old and cold. Chicken sandwich was chewy and not good. My husband'e and my son's chicken nuggets were so hard I could knock someone out with them. My husband's fries were still cold and not good. My daughter's fries were dripping old grease. There was a man yelling and cussing at employees in front of our children. The floors were slippery and greasy feeling. We will not be coming back to this location. We normally go to Simpsonville and we will stick with that one. This is our second time coming here and once again it was a horrible experience.

Great experience at Whataburger! The food was fresh, hot, and made exactly how I ordered it. The staff was friendly, courteous, and provided quick service. This was my first time here and it will not be my last. I’ll definitely be back for another great meal!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ First Encounter with Whataburger As a foodie who has spent far too many evenings contemplating ambiance, service, and the existential meaning of a french fry, I found myself drawn to Whataburger for the very first time. Its location—wedged conveniently between Target, Costco, and enough shopping centers to qualify as a suburban pilgrimage site—made it an easy stop. The nostalgic orange‑and‑white décor whispered promises of classic Americana, so naturally, I ventured in. I was greeted not by a human, but by a kiosk—glowing, smudged, and moving at the speed of a dial‑up connection. After several attempts, a prayer, and a moment where I questioned whether the machine was judging me, I placed my order. No receipt printed, so I assumed the kiosk had simply decided to believe in me. A quick restroom visit revealed an employee lounging horizontally on a bench, phone in hand, at precisely 8:20 p.m. I wasn’t sure if he was on break or had simply given up on the concept of vertical living. The restroom itself featured two wet‑floor signs, which was optimistic considering the floor appeared untouched by any mop and instead decorated with what I can only describe as “abstract urine splatter.” Toilet paper was perched on the purse hook—clever, yes, but also a bold statement in favor of chaos. Trash was everywhere. No staff greeted us, so reporting it felt like interrupting a performance art piece. We chose to eat outside, partly because the lounging employee didn’t inspire confidence, and partly because the tables—despite recent rain—were still mysteriously dirty. Two homeless individuals cycled through the trash, retrieving cups and heading inside for free refills. Resourceful, yes. Concerning, also yes. The longer we waited for our food, the more we wondered if the kiosk had actually transmitted our order or simply absorbed it into the digital void. Eventually, a staff member emerged with our shake, offering no greeting, no apology for the wait, and a level of customer service best described as “emotionally unavailable.” When we jokingly mentioned we weren’t sure the kiosk worked, she responded with the enthusiasm of someone who deeply wished we hadn’t spoken. But then—redemption. The chicken bites were forgettable, but the chicken sandwich? Shockingly good. The bacon burger? Mouthwatering, juicy, and everything you hope a fast‑food burger will be. And the shake—thick, cold, and genuinely delicious—was the hero of the evening. This Whataburger has potential, but it desperately needs stronger management. Slow service with no customers ahead of us, an unclean restroom, a lounging employee, and zero human interaction until food arrived made the experience feel more like a social experiment than a dinner stop. The food itself was the saving grace, but the rest? A franchise in need of a reboot.
