I go here every day, it’s always spectacular. 10/10 experience I would recommend. Amazing workers Mikey, Brayden, Lucas, and Josh! They’re always so fast to make my smoothie and I always want to come back.

The workers are always welcoming and give a unique experience to each customer. The smoothies never fail to quench my craving and if any mistakes have ever been made then the manager is always quick to apologize, fix it, and make sure it doesn’t happen again

I had a wonderful experience at this cafe! I ordered the Mango Passion Fruit Smoothie, and it was absolutely delicious-thick, refreshing, and made with natural ingredients. The ambiance is cozy and clean, perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. Excellent service as well. Will definitely visit again!

WATERED DOWN My family has been to many Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations throughout North and South Carolina, and every single time we leave town, we look for a Tropical Smoothie and make a point of stopping at one. We were genuinely excited when one finally opened here in Gaffney, and we even waited a little while after opening before trying it so they had time to get settled. Unfortunately, after giving this location more than one chance, WATERED DOWN is the best way I can describe our experience. The first time I ordered a smoothie here, I watched the ingredients go into the blender. At first it looked exactly like I expected—nice and thick. I watched them blend it, thought everything was fine, and turned my attention away. What ended up in my cup was nowhere near the consistency I had just seen. It was extremely thin, and both the flavor and sweetness were noticeably diluted. There is no doubt in my mind that considerably more liquid was added after I stopped watching. I frequently order the Chia Banana Boost, and everywhere else I’ve had it, it has been thick with noticeable pieces of dates throughout it and especially toward the bottom. I’ve even had pieces large enough to stop up my straw, which I actually like. At this location, there were no noticeable pieces of dates at all. I honestly couldn’t tell whether the dates were there, whether it had been overblended, or whether it had simply been thinned down so much that the normal texture was lost. During that same visit, my daughter’s bowl also had several strawberries that were wrinkled, overripe and tasted off. She pulled them out and threw them away. I didn’t immediately write the location off because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so we went back and tried it again. Unfortunately, the second visit was worse. My smoothie was once again extremely watery, but this time it also had a strange, slightly sour/off taste that I have never experienced in a Tropical Smoothie smoothie before. My son gets the exact same smoothie every single time we go to Tropical Smoothie, regardless of location. His was extremely watered down too—enough that he came to me on his own and said something about it. He has never done that before. The fruit quality is especially concerning because there have also been complaints posted locally about the freshness of the strawberries at this location. In the Gaffney Chatterbox Facebook group, an employee posted that they had attempted to throw away moldy strawberries and were told to retrieve them from the trash and use them. Photos of the strawberries were also posted. I did not personally witness that situation, so I cannot say exactly what happened, but after my daughter was served strawberries that were wrinkled, overripe and tasted off, seeing that post and those photos is extremely concerning. Then on our next visit, my smoothie had that unusual sour/off taste. I can’t say what caused it, but given our own experience with the fruit and what has been posted locally, it certainly makes me question the freshness of the ingredients being used. Tropical Smoothie is not cheap. For the prices being charged, customers should receive the same quality, flavor and consistency the brand is known for at its other locations—not a thin, diluted smoothie or fruit that tastes past its prime. We have never experienced anything like this at the many other Tropical Smoothie locations we’ve visited. Because we specifically seek them out every single time we leave town, we have plenty of locations to compare this one to. Whatever is happening at the Gaffney location needs to be addressed because it reflects poorly on the Tropical Smoothie brand as a whole. At this point, I cannot justify paying Tropical Smoothie prices here for a watered-down, liquidy smoothie while also having serious concerns about the freshness of the fruit being used.

Came here again giving yet another try on this place…once again i was let down. why aren’t the bananas fresh in the bowls? i don’t understand. i can’t even enjoy my order how it’s made cause i have to spend most my time digging out over ripen bananas. everything should be fresh and made to order i feel like they already have these bowls premade. and the yogurt omg it wasn’t pleasant tasting neither was my husbands it was more of a sour cream taste than yogurt. i don’t think i’ll be visiting for a while to get a high priced bowl that doesn’t meet expectations. if the bananas are brown in the middle, why still serve them to customers. Charging all that money just to go treasure hunting to dig out brown bananas. GROSS!!! ruined my appetite i couldn’t even eat the whole thing. ANYWAY…the smoothies are good, but that’s the only thing i’ll go back for. but the greek yogurt bowls are NEVER again. i hate to give a bad review but someone has to be honest, check your bananas if your ordering the PB Protein bowl. maybe you’ll like them better but i prefer my bananas fresh not brown in the middle. and before someone says otherwise. THEY are bananas that are not brown in the middle. Please fix this issue. i couldn’t even enjoy my favorite bowl. it’s heartbreaking. $30 for two people is insane!! i’m paying that much , my food should be top tier and enjoyable. not me picking through my food just to get to the point where i’m only left with peanut butter and granola. the yogurt taste was off bad. and i wasn’t the only person to think this so you know something isn’t right! please do better..I’ve uploaded some pictures so you can see what your ordering. what a bummer. i figured this would be one of my go to spots..welp if it’s not for a smoothie i know for a fact i won’t be revisiting again. this is just a shame.
