  Very clean and friendly staff. But... The card reader in the lane I was in had an issue reading my credit card and customer service did come over to help with the same result. When I asked if they could manually input my card they said no and I left empty handed. This may be a standard practice but I was disappointed they did not try.

  Today’s experience was nothing short of a disappointment. I was in line behind an elderly lady and she asked the cashier could she get someone to help her with her groceries. The cashier told her she will try to find someone but if she couldn’t she would take me and the lady behind me in line and then go outside and help her load her groceries. Well as the cashier is ringing my groceries up, what appeared to be a manager walked up while the elderly lady was sitting infront of the counter and she told the manager the customer needed help with her groceries. She then looked raised her eyebrows in a sense of ‘she can do it herself’ look then proceeds to walk off. All while there is an employee who appears to be cleaning standing there and also another employee in the parking lot putting up buggys. Then said manager walks over to the office doors and just stands there talking. By the time I’m done loading my groceries back into my cart and proceeding to my car this same elderly has barely made it across the parking lot. I load my groceries into my car and at this point no employee has walked outside or anything so I walk over and load her groceries up for her. Now I don’t know if there policies prohibiting employees from helping elderly or disabled people with there groceries in there car, however if there isn’t shame on that manager or what appeared to be one. And if it is shame on FOOD LION. It’s 12pm and 85 degrees outside the least you could’ve done was told the lady you couldn’t help her if there is said policy. It shows character of that so called manager, the cashier did what she was supposed to do. But clearly the manager doesn’t have critical thinking or problem solving skills to manage a situation like this and instead ignore the problem. She could’ve took 5 mins outside her time and did it herself. I can only imagine how many other times this has happened considering how easily over looked it was. It cost 0.00 to be a decent human being.
