The Kingstide is Daniel Island’s first and only waterfront restaurant. Boasting a pristine setting along the Wando River’s meandering waterways, the beautifully appointed two-story space features an abundance of windows that maximize natural light and picturesque views. Envisioned and executed by renowned Charleston-based Cortney Bishop Design, The Kingstide’s rustic yet refined interiors offer a nautical nod that goes beyond coastal expectations
The menu offers a variety of seafood dishes thoughtfully presented in both raw and wood-fired preparations. Inspired by the beautifully simple flavors of the sea, The Kingstide partners with local and regional fisheries, farmers, and purveyors to showcase the Lowcountry’s bounty through fresh, seasonally driven cuisine.
We had a wonderful experience this past Sunday with our large group of around 20 people. Managing a group that size with separate checks is no small task, and Noah did an excellent job taking care of us all with patience, kindness, and professionalism the entire time. There was a technical glitch at the end that took a bit of extra time to sort through, and Noah handled it graciously. The manager on duty was also incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout the whole process, and we really appreciated you for making our group feel so welcome. Great service, great atmosphere, and a team that genuinely cared about making things right. We’ll definitely be back!

This place was incredible. We got the crab cakes, sword fish, and roasted carrots followed by the blueberry cheesecake and crunch bar for dessert. The cocktails were exceptional as well. Our server, Hudson, was very well versed on the menu and so friendly. The area is beautiful as well. Highly recommend! (Note: this was at the downstairs restaurant, the upstairs has a different menu altogether)

Had dinner with my family for graduation. Server brought several sides that were not ordered by our table. When I brought this to their attention, they said not to worry and it wouldn’t be placed on the bill. When the bill came, the sides were on the bill. This, coupled with constantly asking us all if we wanted more beverages, felt like upselling mixed with deception, and I didn’t appreciate being brought food I didn’t ask for, told not to worry, and then catching it on the bill. It’s a shame because this restaurant is located in a great location and I won’t be coming back. Nor can I refer it to colleagues in good faith after an experience like that.

Feel now that I have been in a few times can leave a review. Very impressed by the many dishes I have had over my visits. Three times dining down stairs, twice at the chef counter its a nice experience & witness the great communication they have as a team to run efficiently. Enjoyed dining outside once downstairs as well then twice upstairs as Im aware they have different menus (definitely recommend the downstairs dining experience wasnt as impressed by upstairs). Upstairs 1 time I didnt enjoy the Tuna but that was 1 time everything else has been delicious. Tonight I had 1 cocktail that wasnt to my liking but they were very accomadating to get me something else. The flavor components that the chefs incorporate are very enjoyable. Look forward to my next visit. Also dont sleep on the cauliflower people. I go brussel sprouts a lot of the time but the cauliflower here is a favorite ever since they first recommended it now I get it every time. Thank you Grace for incredible service.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Kingstide on Daniel Island.
My fiancé and I were seated and placed our order, and shortly after, a group of women next to us ordered their food. Despite ordering after we did, their food came out before ours, which immediately raised concerns about how service was being handled.
When our food finally arrived, it was cold and tasted stale, like it had been sitting out for a while. For a restaurant with this kind of reputation and pricing, that’s simply not acceptable.
What made the situation worse was the noticeable difference in how we were treated compared to the table next to us. The level of attention and service they received did not match our experience, and it left us feeling uncomfortable and, frankly, stereotyped.
No guest should feel overlooked or treated differently. I hope management takes this seriously and works toward providing consistent, fair service to everyone who walks through their doors.
