  I’ve been here 3 times now and each time the food quality (especially the oysters) and service has been subpar. I waited 20 minutes for a dozen oysters tonight, hardly anyone at the bar when I came in. Part of this issue was the waitress at the bar took her sweet time to even greet me and offer me anything to drink. The couple next to me kept getting consistent service and was asked if they wanted another round of drinks, and both my water and wine glass were empty, and I was ignored and walked past multiple times. I ordered a dozen of the MA oysters they had on special and didn’t even finish all of them because they were so rocky and poorly shucked. I would’ve rather made the drive downtown to my favorite oyster bar which is unfortunate since I’m local to the area. I was planning on having a full meal here but kept getting walked past despite the couple sitting next to me being attended to consistently. I left early and disappointed and after the last few attempts at this restaurant being dissatisfactory, I won’t be back.

  I was very disappointed with our experience here. Our group was made up of 23-25 year old graduate students from several different states. We were celebrating multiple birthdays and wanted to celebrate with cocktails and appetizers at a more upscale location. Despite each of us presenting valid, government IDs the bartender refused to accept them. When we questioned him he proceeded to threaten to call the cops and made comments about how we barely looked 18. He involved other customers and bartenders in belittling us and told us “You are lucky I even gave the IDs back”. At this point we asked to speak to a manager who looked at the IDs again. He proceeded to call a friend who was a NY state cop to verify the NYS ID was in-fact real. Not only was this an inappropriate escalation, this verified ID still wasn’t enough for the bartender to admit he was wrong. While I completely understand the establishment has a responsibility to verify identification, the way the young male bartender handled the situation was unnecessarily rude and disrespectful. From the beginning of our interaction we felt as though we were treated with a level of disrespect that I have never experienced at a restaurant before. The bartenders attitude and lack of professionalism made what was supposed to be a birthday dinner celebration an embarrassing uncomfortable experience.

  An excellent place to enjoy amazing food with a beautiful view! We came for my birthday dinner and had a reservation, so we were seated immediately. I also noticed that guests coming in without reservations were seated just as quickly, which was great! We did visit on a Sunday evening. The steak/broccoli/lobster/hush puppies were absolutely amazing, and they even surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert, which was such a sweet touch! Our server, Peyton, was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made our experience even better. Honestly, the entire staff was a pleasure! I highly recommend this place. Between the delicious food, wonderful service, and gorgeous view, it’s definitely worth a visit! 🤍✨

  Impeccable restaurant with amazing, fresh food and exceptional service! The views are beautiful, especially if you’re able to sit out on the deck. I went for my birthday and they even surprised me with a complimentary dessert, which was such a sweet touch! The steak was absolutely amazing, and everything from the food to the atmosphere and service made for such a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

  The Kingstide should absolutely be on your must-visit list when visiting Daniel Island! The food was excellent, the patio was beautiful, and the service was top-notch. We sat at the upstairs bar for a cocktail and then had dinner downstairs. If you have the chance, ask to be seated in Paityn’s section. She provided some of the best service we’ve received during all of our visit to Charleston. She was attentive, thorough, incredibly kind, and genuinely made our experience feel special. Will the bartender was also so incredibly nice and his drinks were top notch. Thank you, Paityn and Will, for taking such great care of us! And to the owner, if you happen to read this: please do something nice for Paityn and Will! Employees like them are what turn a great meal into a memorable experience. We’ll absolutely be back!
