The customer service was awesome, and I really appreciate how friendly and welcoming everyone was. Only down fall about that was I was told it would’ve been a 30 minute wait for 2lbs of hash. I grew up on hash so I knew that only had to be scooped in the container. They said they had a lot of orders so I just assumed they go in order no matter what the order is so since I had to wait I added more items.
I was really hoping to come here and say great things, but first it was the price. It’s a little more expensive than other BBQ spots, but I was happy to support and figured it would be worth it. I was honestly shocked to see a slice of cake cost $12. I’ve never paid that much for a single slice of cake, but I thought, “Why not? At that price, it’s got to be good.” Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
Everything had to be purchased separately. Five wings for $11 just weren’t worth it to me. I was also hoping for the fried whole wings I saw on Google, but they only had wingettes. The hash and rice was the biggest disappointment. I only ate a small portion because it just wasn’t good. The cake also tasted like it had been baked too long, so I only ate a small piece of that as well.
I spent almost $70, and the only thing I finished was the chicken and honestly, I ate all of it because, why not? I’m a hash-and-rice baby, so I definitely know good BBQ when it’s put in front of me.
Maybe it was just an off day, and I truly hope that’s the case. Unfortunately, that off day came at my expense.
