  Absolutely amazing Japanese restaurant! The chef himself is from Japan! The crust blew my mind. Everything was great and the desserts were phenomenal! Highly recommend

  Had a lovely experience here for our anniversary dinner. Food and cocktails were stellar and our server Dasha was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

  I dont even know where to start! 10 out of 10! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and clean! The menu wasn't overly done, so I didn't get stressed trying to navigate it or decide. We went for the chefs choice dinner, but because it is restaurant week they didn't offer it, so I went with the menu that is offered for restaurant week my husband ordered off the regular menu and we shared everything! Because it was our anniversary they brought us a complimentary tuna appetizer and a beautiful dessert at the end. ( again both amazing!) The staff worked together beautifully, helping each other deliver food and drinks, each member knew exactly how everything was prepared and explained it with beautiful detail. Not one thing we ate or drank was bad, NOT ONE! Definitely impressed and will be back soon! Ask for Dasha, such a sweetheart! Thank you for making our anniversary memorable 💖

  Shokudô on King Street proves that there is a world of difference between simply serving food and delivering true hospitality. From the moment we sat down, our server, Sophie, set the bar for the evening. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, making the entire dining experience effortless. While we ordered from the Restaurant Week menu, we decided to add the North Carolina Tuna Crudo as an extra course, and it ended up being the highlight of the night. The quality and freshness of the regional tuna shone through with incredible flavor and balance, showing off the kitchen's skill with pristine local seafood. Every detail of the meal reflected thought, care, and precision. Shokudô is a true standout on Upper King for anyone who appreciates the art of real service. Huge thanks to Sophie and the team for such a memorable evening.

  Friendly neighborhood Japanese tavern with high quality fish and robata grilled skewers besides other delicious dishes. It's a pleasant atmosphere, with outdoor space, and professional yet relaxed service.
