  Honestly pretty mid. The pralines are massive in size, but that’s about it. So little nuts inside of the chocolate covered ones we chose. It felt like a gimmick. Keep in mind this is not a “local” shop– they have these in various tourist towns and they are franchised. Had we known that, we probably wouldn’t have stopped in.

  Coming down from Mississippi, me and my wife decided to tryout pralines and ended up getting sorbet. The sorbet from River Street Sweets was incredibly delicious. Wesley made it with love, was so nice and helpful when I picked out my flavors!

  What a shame. I shop at Tanger outlet River Street and never had an issue. Went to the Market location in downtown Charleston and what a disappointment. Spent nearly $100 and most of the items will have to be thrown away. Rice crispy treats are so stale they crumble from the marshmallows being dry. Sitting out so long they lost their moisture. Same with the 7 pieces of fudge (peanut butter and chocolate, cookies and cream, and peanut butter) are all dried to the hardened state. Have not tasted any of the chocolates so I can’t state their taste or state of freshness but I would not be disappointed at this stage if they are terrible as well. I will NEVER return to that location. I wish I knew if it is a franchise or company owned. Even the Savannah location was great. Stay away from downtown Charleston market location.

  The ice cream and sorbet at River Street Sweets are absolutely delicious! So many amazing flavors to choose from. I went with the lemon sorbet and coconut gelato.

  This is only a review of the ice cream and the service for the ice cream. If you’re a tourist this is not the spot, the ice cream quality is typical to any generic spot you can find back home. If you want a good experience in terms of quality and flavor then go to Off The Tracks. Service - I felt like the worker did not enjoy his job or it’s possible he was having a bad day, but the whole time he had a straight and serious face. My girlfriend just asked what a sugar cone is and then he proceeds to just start filling the ice cream cone with the flavor she had originally requested instead of showing her the cone and confirming. Again same with me, not even a hint of positive emotion or seeming to care about providing a good service, it’s like we’re burdening him. I ordered the cookies and cream and my gf orders the mint chocolate chip. My girlfriend only took one bite and realized it’s not that good and proceeds to throw it out. My cookies and cream wasn’t bad but definitely not worth $6 for a single scoop as it’s not really any better than something I can buy in a grocery store.
