Inside a historic bank building that dates back to 1848, Oak’s stately setting features three floors with five distinct dining areas. Arched windows, 20-foot ceilings, original metal work, fireplaces and 150-year-old heart pine floors, offers the perfect setting for enjoying a special evening.
We came to Oak Steakhouse after our wedding and it was the perfect way to celebrate! We had the ribeye and filet mignon, both cooked perfectly and so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes and mac & cheese were incredible, and the portions were generous—definitely enough for a group to share. Definitely give their rolls a try!
The atmosphere was elegant but still welcoming, and it made our night feel even more special. Such an unforgettable dining experience and the perfect ending to our wedding day!

I came to your restaurant on Mother's Day,last Sunday.I live in the area so we come often. The food was below my expectations. I ordered the prime rib eye and my wife ordered a filet. Both were supposed to be prime. My wife's was more like choice and mine was standard. I asked the waiter about it and he came back and said, sometime the cuts get mixed up. I come to your restaurant because I trust you'll serve me what I asked for. Thankfully he immediately took it off the bill. I was so disappointed and hoping this is a one off because I know things like that can happen. Thanks

I was hoping to bring my mom somewhere nice for Mothers Day following gradation weekend… unfortunately I went wrong with Oak. The vibe and service was great but our food was definitely not up to par. The oysters were fine, nothing special, definitely had shards of shells in almost all of them. The steak was burnt and way too peppery. The loaded potato was cold and bland. Overall a check over $300 the food was definitely nowhere near the price. Halls is a way better steakhouse on the peninsula.

Must have been an off night. Had a bad steak, cooked too much. Either the grill was too hot or it stayed on too long.
The manager handled it well. In fact went overboard. No charge for the steak, brought another and desserts.

We had a great experience at Oak. The aged ribeye was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were incredible as was the creamed spinach. The hot rolls were also sooo good! Our waiter gave us the oysters Rockefeller on the house as a birthday gift for the two birthdays at the table which we really appreciated. They were amazing. Also love the touch of putting our birthdays on the menu. Definitely one of the best if not the best steakhouse in Charleston.
