The food was incredible. Our serve Jake helped set up a omakase experience for my buddy, and filled in the gaps for the rest of us with an amazing family style experience. I will be going to this again. 20/10

Atmosphere was good but service is very slow, food took a long time even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. It felt disrespectfully expensive for how small the cuts were. Not coming back.

We had the most incredible time celebrating my birthday at O-ku!
The team completely personalized my entire experience and made me feel so special on my birthday. Going that extra step certainly did not go unnoticed and something I value in a dining experience.
First of all— the matcha mocktail was a wonderful opener to our evening. We ordered the truffle edamame (our favorite), the chef’s choice nigiri which was incredibly fresh, the salmon & lemon roll (a must order), and the spider roll. My partner said the mochi was the best he’s ever had.
We highly recommend this dining experience not only for the exceptional service but for the quality in every dish.

There are restaurants you enjoy—and then there are places like O-Ku Charleston that quietly set the standard for what dining out should feel like.
Having visited twice now, I can say with confidence this isn’t a fluke—it’s consistency at a very high level. From the moment you walk in, there’s a polished ease to everything: attentive without hovering, refined without feeling stiff. The service alone would bring you back, but it’s the food that seals it.
The sushi is exactly what you hope for and rarely find—immaculately fresh, clean in flavor, and executed with precision. Each roll feels intentional, not overworked or gimmicky, just balanced and dialed in. The appetizers follow suit, setting the tone early with thoughtful preparation and quality ingredients that actually speak for themselves.
Then there’s the bar—easily one of the standout features. The cocktails aren’t just good; they’re crafted. Balanced, nuanced, and presented with the kind of care that makes you slow down and appreciate what’s in the glass.
And just when you think the experience has peaked, the dessert donuts show up. Light, warm, perfectly done—and honestly, borderline dangerous. The kind of dessert you talk about long after you leave.
O-Ku doesn’t try too hard, and that’s exactly why it works. It’s confident, consistent, and delivers across the board—twice proven, and very likely many more visits ahead.
