  I have no idea why THE BEST ramen place I’ve been to in the US is located in historic Charleston, SC in a tavern/bar setting — but it is!!! I’ve traveled to Japan several times and had amazing ramen there and can confidently say that Frankie has absolutely nailed it here!! And not just the ramen with its perfect balance of nuttiness and spiciness but also the edamame, crab Rangoons, and OH MY GOSH the $1 dumplings — are you kidding me!!?? Seriously, if you have the chance to grab a meal here, DO IT!! I hope to be back when visiting the area again in the future.

  Dog friendly both inside and patio with amazing food and vibes. Frankie is incredibly friendly and anyone can tell from talking him how passionate he is about his craft. I lived in Japan for 2 years and this ramen is authentic as you can get. Will definitely be back in the future, truly a gem to have amazing late night food in Charleston.

  If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. I've had many a ramen in my time, some more expensive than this that claim to be "fancy", and I would eat this every day if I could. The ramen, the pork, the dumplings, the rangoons, everything. Plus, the chef comes out and talks to you! He asked if I liked it, what I liked about it, and even explained some of his creative choices. Truly great experience. 11/10

  Would recommend to anyone wanting amazing ramen and dumplings with fresh homemade noodles! Frankie is so passionate about his craft and it showed in the taste. He came out to speak personally with everyone who ordered food from him and made sure we were happy. A very kind man with a talent and passion for food:)

  Two words: Just Wow! Was visiting Charleston last weekend and walked in to Frankie’s Ramen on a whim. What a pleasant surprise! I’ve had my fair share of ramen through the years and Frankie definitely knows what’s up. The flavors are on point with perfectly cooked noodles and soft boil egg in a beautifully crafted bowl of hot and rich broth steaming up in your face where it makes you feel all warm and cozy. Easily the best meal of the weekend, this place is special, highly recommend!
