  Still my favorite bbq after 50 years! However, apparently over the past couple of weeks they raised prices 20 to 50%!! For example a burger basket went from $14 to $18...Just the basket add on went from $4 to $6, a 50% increase. The burger just had a 20% increase, but that is still huge. Although their prices used to be a bit low, this overnight huge jump is hard to swallow and now they are in the same price range of Home Team and nearly any other great bbq joint. Not sure how long it has been since their last price increase, but as a customer I would prefer prices rise 2 to 3% a year according to the CPI so it is not so hard to accept.

  2 meat plates. Ribs and brisket. Brisket was a bit dry, but good. Ribs were under cooked. Fried okra was good. Mac n cheese lacked flavor and consistency. Corn bread was good. The lady at cashier was nice. She asked how the food was. So I hesitantly let her know. In place of mac cheese, she gave us collard greens which we asked for. However, it was undercooked. The place itself has a musty weird smell to it. The soda machine I noticed has a lot of mold spots everywhere. This used to be a good place to go to. Unfortunately we will not return to this establishment.

  Kyle served us and ONCE AGAIN… the food was Spectacular. It’s that perfect Mustard base BB-Q. Kyle served us and took care of all our requests! Enjoy the food and Kyle will hook you up w/ incredible service. They have a Car Show the 1st Wednesday of every month! (Mar-Nov). It’s great family fun.:-)

  A family friend from the Tampa area found out I would be working in the Charleston area and recommended Bessinger's BBQ. This place did not let me down, it was completely awesome!! I called it in ahead of time over the phone and it was ready for pickup, I immediately sent my friend a message to let him know he was accurate about this place. If you are in the Charleston area this is a must visit place

  Swung in on a Thursday to pick up the lunch special. Nothing special - normal eat and go lunch. However, completely floored! Stop right here! In my way-over-50 years I can honestly say I have not had a better bacon cheese burger!! Never! Shout out to that crew turning out plates today - you guys hit it out of the park. I might need to start coming by every Thursday. Thanks Michael, Faith, and all those making it happen!!
