  I have mixed feelings about the Throwback Pizza Hut in Abbeville. There were no patrons there when we arrived. Two employees. We were given menus at the register and told to sit anywhere. We asked for tap water with lemon and were told that lemons are not allowed at this location. The nostalgia was definitely not what I expected it to be. It just wasn’t the same. The server (who was on the phone with ear buds the entire time we were there) was nice and apologetic when I asked why there were no prices on the menu. We had to retrieve the menu online to see the prices, which was inconvenient. The remaining employee was scrolling on his cell phone while the business phone rang and rang and went unanswered. The pizza wasn’t as greasy as I had hoped and there was little to no cheese on it. As someone who is an expert on the “traditional Pizza Hut”, I know that the toppings and cheese used to be weighed out for each pizza for quality control. This is obviously no longer the case and my pizza had almost no cheese or sauce. The quality of the ingredients that I did receive was good though. It would be no CE to have the salad bar back. My bill was less than 10$. I would return based solely on the cost. The service was fine but I wonder if that would be the case if there were several families being served.

  I'm aging and retired in a small town. McCormick SC. There's not much to choose from here as far as restaurants. It's been a long time since I had the opportunity to eat at a pizza hut and it was as good as all of my past meals at pizza hut. I heard some are closing. I sure hope they don't close them all. That would be heartbreaking. My grandson and I ate supper there. It was absolutely delicious and the service was superb. Our server was a very sweet attentive young lady who left us wanting nothing. She constantly checked on us making sure we had a great meal. We had a rough day before we got there and she made it much better. Along with pizza hut.
