Steve's Hot Dogs, founded by musician Steve Ewing of The Urge, is the home of the Official St. Louis Style hot dog. Voted Best Hot Dogs in St. Louis, the smoked all-beef hot dogs at this legendary local eatery are second-to-none. It all starts with a fresh-baked hearty companion bakery bun topped with a cold smoked and grilled Nathan's Famous dog, each one topped to perfection with creative combinations of toppings. Steve's Hot Dogs is also known for some of the best smashburgers you're going to find. Steve's award-winning smashburgers are made from a blend of chuck, angus and sirloin - try it classic style or topped to the hilt. Pair with "St. Louis's Best French Fries" (St. Louis Magazine) or one of a selection of local beers and brews for the perfect lunch or dinner.

If you're reading this debating if you should go, just go. I ordered a jalapeño popper dog, a beer, and had a relaxing lunch in an authentic and comforting setting. Didn't think hotdogs could be this awesome!

This was probably the worst hotdog I’ve ever had in my life. It tasted like a Costco hotdog, but even worse. It was salty and tasted overly processed. The staff were somewhat friendly, but they did not make up for the lackluster dining experience. $12 for a hot dog is ridiculous.

When walking in I was instantly greeted by the cashier. With this being my first visit I had a few questions and asked for recommendations. I layed on the bacon bacon Jamaican. The hot dog was packed. The potato bun ended up falling apart. The honey Chipotle BBQ is pretty sweet.

I honestly don’t know how this establishment even has a rating of 4 stars! Let’s start with the service… we walked in as a first timer. We asked the cashier what is the most popular. He/cashier was rude and weird… not in a good way. As someone that is the first person that greets customers as they come in. A customer service should be on a level that makes you feel good for choosing to spend your hard earned money with their establishment. He definitely did not do that in fact he demonstrated no social skills and customer service at that. There was a lady that was bringing the food she was rude too! She walked around with a smugness/ don’t talk to me attitude while eating food.No hi… how are you or thanks for coming in. Which reminds me we didn’t even get that when we were done eating and got up to walk out. As far as the food save your money nothing special about this place. You can make the hotdogs at home and the Mac and cheese tasted like it was from a box. They had a variety of sodas but most were out. In all honesty save your money and don’t spend it here!!! There are many other restaurants in that area that will appreciate you and your money!

Visiting from Texas and this place looked fun from the outside. We decided to walk in and spend some money with them. It was the complete opposite of fun when we got inside. The host/cashier was about as fun as a bump on a log. Tried to make small talk with him..”we are first timers here”…”what’s popular on the menu?”…”you guys have cool art in here”..etc but NOTHING! Ordered a classic chili cheese dog, fries & Mac’n cheese. It wasn’t spit out of your mouth terrible but it was definitely nothing special..pretty bland. When we try a spot for the first time we share a order to see how it is first..I’m glad we did that today. From the poor service to the food, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. This is a long street full places to eat so try something else. The owner should really get with his/her people and remind them why he opened this eatery in the first place. I won’t be spending money at this establishment again.
