Mother's day brunch was average. Cheezy eggs, stuffed French toast, Salmon, emperors chicken, biscuits and gravy, fresh served honey ham. Salad bar, fruit and veggies. Dessert bar was Pastry style.
30 a person, crowded for Mother's day. Full bar and wonderful atmosphere.
3 star for the food quality
Service was better, love the atmosphere.

This establishment boasts a wonderful aesthetic, and the view from behind the bar is truly remarkable. The service we received was excellent, with our server, Lainie, being particularly exemplary. She remembered every order and was very attentive, even kindly offering to take our picture at the beautiful restaurant.
However, I must admit that I was not particularly impressed with the food. I found the clam chowder to be a bit salty, and unfortunately, my main course also had a salty flavor, with the fish being a little dry, which suggested it might not have been as fresh as it could have been. The salmon had a very strong, fishy taste, and surprisingly, our friend's steak with a side of vegetables also had a fishy taste on the vegetables.
Considering the price, I would rate the food experience a 4 out of 10. I would have to carefully consider whether to return, and if I did, it would likely be for the ambiance and service, rather than the food, regrettably.

Hemingway’s Blue Water Cafe delivers a polished yet approachable dining experience that fits perfectly within the Bass Pro Shops setting. The atmosphere blends upscale lodge aesthetics with a relaxed vibe, making it an easy choice whether you’re entertaining clients or stepping out for a mid-day break.
One of the standout menu items is the bison burger. It’s cooked well, flavorful without being heavy, and offers a nice alternative to a traditional beef option. The balance of seasoning and quality ingredients makes it a reliable go-to if you’re unsure what to order.
The menu overall is diverse enough to accommodate different tastes, which is key when meeting with clients or colleagues. Service is typically efficient and professional, keeping things moving without feeling rushed, exactly what you want in a business lunch setting.
Seating is comfortable, and the layout allows for conversation without excessive noise, which can be a challenge at many restaurants. Timing on food delivery is consistent, making it easy to plan around a work schedule.
Overall, Hemingway’s stands out as a strong option for a business lunch in Springfield. Solid food, dependable service, and an environment that supports both casual and professional meetings.

I had the brunch buffet :
The salad was good, but not a lot of choices. As far as the hot line I found everything bland as if it was all just prepackaged sides heated up. The blackened chicken Alfredo was both bland and tough. The bourbon glazed " sirloin" was dry and tasteless. The desert bar had several items of which I tried three. The strawberry bar was very dense, the peach cobbler tasted strait out of a grocery store freezer. The coconut bar was actually tasty.
My wife ordered the alligator bites as we had had them multiple times and had always enjoyed them. We found them very tough and basically inedible this time. When asked by the waitress how are Meal was, she seemed personally insulted when I told her that the alligator bites were very tough. The manager did come over and apologize and did end up taking them off our bill. Due to our past experiences we will probably give them another try, but had this been our first visit it definitely would have been our last.
