  Came for lunch on 6/26/26 at 11:00 am and the service was excellent. Greeted immediately, server was nice and quick…. But the food. My goodness that kitchen needs help. This was my first time here by the way. I got the chicken Cesar sandwich. Literally 2 pieces of lettuce ( I should have taken a photo ) the chicken was sliced, burnt and dry. I was excited about the Cesar mayo but there was just like a dap on it. Honestly the only reason they are getting 3 stars in because the service.

  The alegator was like rubber. Chewed it for couple of minutes and asked waitress for napkins to spit it out. She said others had the same issue. They did take it off the bill. The menu didn't seem as good as last time we ate here years ago. Little kids were running all around tables and screaming. Nobody stopped them. They did it the whole hour we were there. Sorry to say, we won't be going back.

  Food was wonderful I had the bison burger which was fantastic and the alligator bites for an appetizer. The alligator was dark meat and chewed like chicken with a fried clam kind of flavor. My wife had the grilled shrimp tacos and my son had the little sliders. I never seen him eat a whole meal so I know it had to be really good. The only issue I had was when I ordered the mock-a-rita. I am 1 year and 8 months clean off alcohol. And when the server gave me the drink thank God I told my wife to try it. She took a sip and said it tasted off. To find out it had alcohol in it. If I would have drinken that my 1 year and 8 months of recovery would have went down the drain. The server was real nice about it and brought the right one. But if your bartender can't get the order right almost waisting my recovery she should not be a bartender or at least change the name of the mock-a-rita on the menu because it most likely confused the bar tender.

  The service was terrific. Our server behind the bar, Erica, was attentive and kind. The management was friendly as well as the host. However, this was our second visit to Hemmingway’s and the food has been mediocre both times. Not bad necessarily, but it was under seasoned and served luke warm. We have had fish tacos, sandwiches, and burgers so far. Luckily, the atmosphere made up for it. From the cozy fire to the delightful fish tank that sat before us, you can count on an excellent ambiance. Ultimately I have decided to leave three stars because while the atmosphere is great, you go to a restaurant to eat. I don’t mind higher food prices but I expect the meal to back them up.

  My husband and I had stopped in to have lunch. We have been to Hemingway's a few times before and it has usually been fairly good. Today, not so much. I had the Cobb salad and asked for grilled chicken. My husband had the Fish and Chips. My salad was huge but it was pretty much ALL lettuce! One boiled egg, probably 3 croutons, and a tablespoon of crumbled bacon. The "grilled" chicken that was on the salad was terrible. The texture was chewy, flat pieces of chicken and did not have a grilled flavor at all. The pieces of chicken looked like they came from a frozen bag. No flavor at all. I didn't eat half of the salad, and left the chicken in the bowl. My husband said the Fish and Chips was really greasy, nothing special. For what we ordered and the quality, the dishes were overpriced. Very disappointing!
