  This restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff . I’m so happy they did. The portions of the food are fit for a king/queen. I had the most amazing host for my table, Izzy! She was very nice and attentive . I recommend this restaurant. Ask for Izzy

  While walking around the historic downtown area we stumbled across Civil Kitchen, stopped in & looked at a menu & checked the place out & it looked quite interesting so we came back weeks later & had Dinner. As we re stepped back in we really liked the casual laid back atmosphere with music that wasn't too loud so it was off to a great start. We were then greeted immediately & ordered the Seafood Beignets as an appetizer then the Panko Fish Sandwich & the Tuna Poke. Everything arrived quickly & was outstanding especially the Beignets. Our server, Allie T, did a great job of taking care of us & the prices were fair ( 3 Cocktails, 1 Appetizer & 2 Entrees for $75.48 ) We look forward to returning for another great meal.

  This was my first visit to Civil Kitchen. I was visiting my son who attends college in town. He had visited Civil Kitchen a few times. We really enjoyed everything we ordered. We were seated upstairs as the restaurant was pretty full. The service was prompt and attentive. There were good options on the menu with a wide variety of choices. There were also a lot of drink options. We enjoyed everything so much and definitely will return. Unfortunately, I didn't snap any photos. The presentation was very nice and everything was very clean.

  1st experience was so-so. We gave it another chance but it was worse. 3 reminders and 25 minutes in to receive sweet tea. Waited 20 minutes for him to take our order. I ordered a side salad which is listed under "sides" with ranch and blue cheese dressings. I got ranch. I asked a different server for another ranch and blue cheese dressing. I did not get ranch but they did bring blue cheese crumbles not dressing. My date ordered the fish sandwich with sweet potatoe waffle fries. Both were overcooked/burnt. Could hammer a nail with the fries. Staff stood around talking more than working. Top it off with a large group of 20somethings that had too much to drink next to us half way through. We couldn't hear each other talk even though we were sitting next to each other.

  We decided to come here for lunch over the weekend and we left pretty unsatisfied and utterly sticker shocked. We both had a cocktail, pretty good and balanced for what we each had. We got the “crack bread” for an app and to say it was a let down would be an understatement. If you’re going to label something “crack” like it better be beyond what is to be expected. It felt like the $1 French loaf you get from the store with some herbs and cheese baked on top. It was $13. 🫠 For our entrees one plate was an Asian inspired chicken sandwich. Sadly not many Asian flavors came through on the slaw with the sandwich. It read more like a chicken sandwich on a brioche bun with slaw on top. The other dish was the black and blue salad and a side of “premium crispy loaded brussel sprouts”. The salad was fire because you cannot go wrong with the bones of that salad. Blue cheese and steak. It speaks for itself. Let’s get to the Brussels sprouts. For $8 I opted for a premium side of crispy brussels. The side came out luke warm turning to cold. Not a crisp in sight. Not a premium bite to be found. All this to say I will happily pay $80 for lunch when it’s great. Everything we ate was “okay”. $80 later and can definitely say it was not worth that. I’m not usually a reviewer but I do read reviews and if I read this prior, I would’ve picked a different $80 Springfield spot.
