  It was poring down rain on a Monday afternoon so the place was empty. Staff really friendly and food was great. Try the poppers.

  We were there off season so did not have to fight crowds - big plus. Had oysters, shrimp and salad. Very good. Good drinks. Enjoyed it very much. Went back several time.

  Backwater Jack’s is always a great time and one of my favorite spots to swing by at the lake. Even though the weather rolled in with cloudy skies and a little rain while I was there, the atmosphere still delivered. The view overlooking the water was calm, peaceful, and relaxing for the afternoon, but you can absolutely tell this place knows how to turn up the fun when the crowd rolls in. The food was fantastic and full of flavor. Stevie, my waitress, was phenomenal — charming, attentive, and very helpful with recommending the Garlic Chicken Pasta, which definitely did not disappoint. Service like that really makes a place stand out, and she made the whole experience even better. I’ve been here before and always had a good time, which says a lot about consistency. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing lakeside meal, drinks with friends, or a lively time later in the evening, this place really offers the full Lake of the Ozarks experience. I’ll absolutely be back again soon.

  We have eaten here before and always had wonderful experiences. Tonight we got there early for dinner and there were 3 of us. Not many people in the restaurant. There was an empty table by the window so we asked if we could sit there and the younger hostess was going to let us sit there (I believe) but the other older hostess with tattoos on her arms intercepted and told the younger girl to take us to another table. She said the table we requested was for larger parties. No apologies to us or anything. Which I would understand EXCEPT that within a couple of minutes of seating us at a table away from the window they sat a table of 4 at the same table by the window, and they only had 1 more person than we had!! The food was great! Our server, Sarah, was awesome! Just disappointed in the hostess situation. The restaurant was not busy at all when we left either. It’s not busy season yet. Plenty of room for larger parties still when we left. As we walked out, I asked the younger hostess what the other hostess name was and she said it was Bobbi. No complaints about the younger hostess. Very sweet girl! We will be back. Food is good and server was good also.

  Steep hill going down to ghe restaurant, lots of outdoor seating (shady and sunny) Good food, and the oysters were fresh. Next time, I'm getting the snow crab clusters. Another couple got them and there was a lot in the serving. No complaints about anything being fishy.
