About

RestaurantBurger JointThat Burger Joint
Real food, made for you. We're suckers for the feelings of nostalgia synonymous with classic American food. That's why every That Burger Joint (TBJ) is located under the same roof as an Oberweis Ice Cream & Dairy Store. A trip to TBJ is satisfying, yet simple-- and not to mention delicious. We chop fresh produce, slice Idaho potatoes, hand batter all natural chicken breasts, grill all natural 100% Angus beef, whisk signature dipping sauces and blend house made seasonings. Every. Single. Day. Oberweis makes the best milkshakes in the world, and now, the best burgers too.

We love this local place. Especially since it's connected to ice cream and pizza. Everyone gets something they want. Love their fries. Taste like real potatoes. Always friendly service.

Burgers are crazy greasy to the point it messed up my stomach. Do the pizza if you go here! They have a full pizza oven and my friend who got it loved it. Had huge buyers remorse over getting the burger and fries.

We placed an order for a double cheeseburger (pickles, onions, mustard), a single cheeseburger (onions, mustard), an order of fries, and a bottled water. Pickup had a few frustrating issues: The Drinks: They were out of bottled water and handed me a fountain cup instead. Outages happen, but I had to manually request a refund for the price difference rather than the employee offering it upfront. The Food Quality: The double cheeseburger was completely missing mustard and only had two stuck-together pickles. Meanwhile, the single cheeseburger was completely drowned in mustard to the point of dripping. The Fries: I didn't mind waiting a couple of minutes for fresh fries, but watching the cook skip salting the main batch and instead dump salt directly onto the top of the fries in the box was really disappointing. Overall, poor attention to detail and lazy preparation.

I hardly ever leave reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt I should. From the moment we walked in, the cashier seemed completely uninterested in helping us. She didn’t greeted us and never looked up from what she was doing leaving me feeling really awkward because we were clearly ready to order. Another employee (who deserves credit because he looked like he was juggling multiple responsibilities) actually had to tell her to take our order. We ordered one adult meal (pictured), two kids’ meals, and two kids’ scoops of ice cream. I specifically asked if I should wait to get the ice cream or order it with the food. She told me to order it then. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a terrible suggestion. Our ice cream sat in the takeout bag for 20 minutes before I finally let my kids eat it because I didn’t want it to go to waste. Our food didn’t come out for nearly 30 minutes. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for several years, so I completely understand longer wait times when a restaurant is slammed. But there were only about three other families in the restaurant. Then we got home and discovered the food wasn’t any better than the service. Both burgers were cold, the chicken tenders were overcooked and greasy as heck, and the fries were soggy. I live about five minutes away, and I still had to reheat our meals before we could eat them. I really don’t like being a “Karen” or leaving negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable from start to finish. I was honestly seconds away from asking for a refund and leaving before our food ever came out. I hope this was just an off night, but based on our experience, I can’t recommend this location unless you have 30 extra minutes to spare, $40 to waste, and enjoy subpar food equivalent to McDonalds.
