We're regulars there, you see, and usually, things are just dandy. That's why this visit was such a letdown, to be honest. My granddaughter, she just loves their Gooey Butter Cake ice cream. Says she can't get enough of them chunks of gooey butter cake all mixed in. But bless her heart, the scoop she got last night didn't have a single speck of cake in it, and it sure didn't taste like gooey butter at all. If I'm bein' truthful, it tasted more like plain vanilla, and not even a real good vanilla at that. Now, we know sometimes things go a little sideways, and we're usually pretty understanding folks. But this was a special birthday outing, and it was a real damper for a little girl who was just tickled pink about gettin' her favorite treat. We'll likely be layin' off this particular spot for a spell, hopin' they can get the quality back to where it used to be.
