  Saturday night my wife and I took my cousin to Sapore to celebrate her 79th birthday. I had made a reservation which noted that we were celebrating her birthday. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. I ask that we be seated upstairs so that the noise level would be lower and we could talk. The hostess lead us upstairs and seated us at a table that was right next to the service door. Suffice to say this did not turn out to be ideal as the air conditioning seemed to be blowing right at our table. Given the use of the doorway and the AC it was not ideal and I wished I had worn a quarter zip or jacket. None of us ordered drinks or hors d oeuvres when we were asked. My wife ordered the chop salad, I ordered the chicken marsala, and my cousin ordered the Melanzane Parmigino. Our wait person ask if my wife and I planned to share and we said we did BUT we did not ask that our food be split and served. The salad came before the meal and was split. Unfortunately it was warm and the amount of salad on the two plates was impressively small. The rest of the food came shortly after the salad pates were cleared and my entree was split. The chicken was not hot and the serving of vegetables was literally 2 bite size carrots, one asparagus spear, and one petite potato for each of us. The serving of partigiano was impressively small as well. At the end of the meal we mentioned we were celebrating my cousins 79th birthday and our server offered a complimentary dessert and brought her a piece of cheese cake on a plate that said Happy Birthday. Other than this no mention was made by anyone on the restaurants staff. The cost of the meal was $64.75 and I tipped our wait person appropriately. I did not note there was a $4 split charge. Suffice to say the meal was disappointing. My cousin of course thanked us but we wished we had taken her to her favorite Italian restaurant instead of introducing her to a new and different place we had come to previously with friends.

  For a recent family baby shower we were graciously hosted by Paul and Brandi for a wonderful buffet lunch that our guests are still raving about! The planning was seamless, the ambiance was perfection for our Italian theme and the food (as always!) was delicious. After many, many visits to Sapore we can say without a doubt that the only thing better than the food is the way that they make you feel like family. Whether for a date night, a family dinner out or a private event, overall highly recommended.
