  Alright so I’m from a place that doesn’t have great BBQ so maybe I’m easily impressed but this is the best bbq I’ve ever had. We had some loaded Jo Jo’s for happy hour and those were incredible. I picked two meats, ribs and pulled pork with beans and slaw for my side and my girlfriend had the chicken wings. Everything was sooooo good. I wish I lived next door so I could come back every day. Our server was very nice and attentive and the patio was huge and cranked some sweet jams.

  Group of 7 inside seating. Service was very good, but as the area filled up, it was very noisy. The ribs were not very good quality. Other food looked good. After dinner, we went outside to the games area. The mini golf is gone and the whole outside area looked rundown. We sat out by the fireplace area to visit and have gifts. We left soon after.

  Spent some time with the team and our third party team. The Tuesday special that I ordered is the Burnt End Chimichanga. Loved it! The unique thing about the specials they only have them on those days of the week. Burnt Ends in the Chimichanga were tender but had a good bark or crust. Flavor was a smokey spicy tangy infusion of BBQ and TexMex. If you get the chance give it a go!

  I went to pick up my order and when I got home I realized half of it was missing. I contacted Char Bar and never received anything back. The food was dry, greasy, and tasted like it was all baked rather than smoked. The burnt ends were hard and dry and the ribs had to be cracked apart. This is probably the worst bbq I've ever had. The hostess was very nice, the only positive I have to say about my visit.

  Every time we get to KC from St.Louis, this is one of our staples to stop at. The food is NEVER wrong. What you order, how you order, & no matter how much you order - it’s perfect! If you’re reading this as a first time customer — ORDER THE CHEESY HUSH PUPPIES!!!! If your with someone else, prepare to fight to the death for the last one, it’ll be worth it. Thank you Char Bar for being a downtown delight! We love you, and your burnt ends! 😉
