  I ordered the Chop Chop dinner and the pork chops was golden fried and fresh yams and greens. Best CD express location in KC! FYI - this is a drive thru location I would recommend ordering online so you don't have a long wait in the drive thru.

  Did a takeout order using Grubhub for delivery. 3 piece fried dark meat chicken with fried okra. 5 piece fried chicken with corn. 3/4 lb fried catfish. Biscuits were tasty but completely soggy with butter. Okra was tasteless and gummy when chewing. Fried chicken was fried in obviously very used oil as it was dark brown and dried out. One of the driest chicken thighs I'd ever eaten. Fried catfish was much lighter color indicating fresher oil. Very nice taste, wish I'd ordered more versus any chicken.

  I used to love Charlie Ds and ate it all the time when I lived in the city. I hadnt had it in a couple of years so I was excited to grab some when I got the opportunity last Friday. The small sides used to be a decent size so I got a small side of yams and a small side of greens with my fish. They gave me pup cups of sides. Genuinely little side shooters. They didn’t even fill these tiny portion cups up. $3 each for 2-3 bites of each side. When I got home and pulled them out of the bag my face dropped and my family, who ate somewhere else, started crackin up. They’re condiment cups. I’d expect a cup this size for a side of sauce or something. Literally the same portion cups the coffee shop near my house uses for free pup cups. I can’t imagine I’ll ever spend another dollar at an establishment that would play in folks faces like that. The portion sizes have gotten drastically smaller since the last time I ate here. I won’t be eating here again. Sad damn day. I guess that’ll teach me to trust something based on past experiences. The glory days of Charlie Ds are over.
