My husband and I, along with three other couples from our community, were pleased to revisit this restaurant following its recent reopening. We all believe the building and location offer tremendous potential and had hoped it would become a dining establishment we would visit regularly. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing.
Our party of eight arrived at 6:00 PM and was seated immediately, as the restaurant was not particularly busy. A server promptly took our drink orders after we were seated. When I ordered a glass of wine, I was informed that the wine shipment had not yet arrived. It then took approximately 15 minutes for our drinks to be served.
A different server later came to take our food order. Several members of our group attempted to order gumbo, jambalaya, étouffée, and red beans and rice, only to be informed that those items were unavailable. The server advised us to “be patient” because it was “just me and the cook.” While we understood the staffing challenges and were willing to be accommodating, the evening quickly deteriorated.
During the approximately 45-minute wait for our meals, we observed three large tables leave the restaurant without being served. One group, which had been seated before us, indicated that their order had never been taken.
Beverage service remained slow and inconsistent, with drinks arriving at different times rather than together. A second waitress eventually came to take our food order. What was particularly surprising was that the restaurant markets itself as a Cajun establishment, yet it had already run out of jambalaya, gumbo, red beans and rice, and étouffée. Additionally, the full bar was unable to serve wine because, according to staff, it “hadn’t come in yet.”
Two members of our group ordered the chicken salad, which appeared more comparable to a side salad topped with a sliced chicken tender, and the chicken was not even warm. I ordered the Cajun Burger with fries. Although the server assured me that the fries would be brought out shortly, they never arrived.
The service was equally disappointing. Our waitress checked on us only once, asked whether we would like another round of drinks, took the order, and never returned with them. We ultimately had to request water from the cook, which arrived shortly before we paid our bill.
Perhaps most concerning was that these issues occurred on a very slow evening with only a small number of occupied tables. Throughout our visit, we witnessed numerous prospective customers leave after learning about the staffing limitations and extended delays.
We genuinely wanted this restaurant to succeed and were hopeful because of its excellent location and attractive facility. However, based on this experience, we will not be returning. We recognize that reopening a restaurant can present challenges and that some operational difficulties are to be expected. Nevertheless, being unable to provide signature menu items, delivering inadequate service, and serving incomplete meals does not inspire confidence in the restaurant’s long-term success.

We gave this another try tonight after giving up on it last year. We were excited that it was under new management and new chef. I’m sorry to say we won’t be back.
We had a party of 8. We arrived at 6 pm. There was no wait, only 4 other tables were occupied. Our waitress informed us that it was just her and the cook so our food we be slow. That was fine. It took 45 minutes to get our food. However, no other food came out of the kitchen besides ours during that time, except 2 appetizers for another table that arrived 30 minutes after we had placed our order. From the time we sat down at 6 pm until our food arrived shortly after 7 pm. We watched 3 different tables get up at walk out because no one had ever taken their order. That is a total of THIRTY people who walked out.
We ordered our drinks. They have a full bar. Two people in our party ordered wine; but were told they had no wine because “it hadn’t come in yet”. Our drinks took about 15 minutes to arrive and did not all come at once.
After waiting for a bit, a different waitress came and took our food order. This is advertised as a CAJUN restaurant. They were out of jambalaya, red beans and rice, gumbo, and etouffee. The chicken salad was one fried chicken tender (from a frozen bag) with 1 cucumber and 1 cherry tomato. Having been to the restaurant before, the salad was served in the same bowl the side salad was served in previously. This was not worth $12.99.
Two people ordered shrimp and grits. One had 4 pieces of shrimp, the other had 5. Everyone said the shrimp was good. That was the only positive on this entire dinner.
Another person ordered a burger which came with a side of fries. The burger was served with no fries and the waitress said they would be right out. They never came. The food was all served lukewarm at best.
Our waitress came around once and asked if we wanted more drinks, we ordered them, she never came back with them. We had all finished our drinks before the food arrived. We had to ask the cook for waters which came just as we were paying the bill.
The entire experience was laughable. Needless to say, we won’t be back and I’m guessing the 30 people who walked out won’t be either. We really wanted this to be good because the building is great and we love supporting local Westside businesses. I understand that they have only been open two weeks, but if you don't have trained staff, enough staff, or the food or wine to run the business do not open yet. First impressions are important and this one failed the test.
