Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
I have been here a few times. The problem is that you never know who’s managing this location. One day they are normal and the next you are lucky if they take your order.

I usually do not leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing.
First, my receipt had a price difference that was never clearly explained. It may have only been 40 cents, but the problem was the lack of transparency and customer service.
After taking my order to my car, I noticed the fries were almost entirely tiny leftover pieces. I went back inside and asked to speak with the manager because I did not want to argue with the employee over something simple. I honestly believed the manager would try to resolve the situation professionally.
Instead, the manager became defensive immediately, refused to replace the fries, refused to refund my money even after I offered to return the food, and showed no interest in understanding the situation. English is not my first language, but I stayed calm and tried my best to explain respectfully what had happened.
I never threatened anyone, insulted anyone, or caused a disturbance. I was simply trying to resolve a customer complaint. What shocked me most was that the manager called the police on me over fries and a receipt issue. The police even warned me that if I returned to the restaurant again, I could be arrested for trespassing.
That experience made me feel humiliated and extremely upset. As a manager, he should have recognized that this situation could have been solved peacefully in a matter of minutes with basic respect and professionalism. Instead, I felt ignored and discriminated against because of my difficulty speaking English.
The issue was never really about fries or 40 cents. It was about respect, professionalism, and how customers should be treated.

Went during teacher appreciation week to get a free breakfast sandwich. Thanks to Jasmine for being so nice and positive to start the morning off. Sent me on my way with a nice message to enjoy the school day! Best part of the day! Cause the kids were terrors.

Very disappointing experience. The food was cold, items were missing from my order, and when I called to address the issue, management was dismissive and unhelpful.
This location does not reflect the quality I expect from Whataburger. Between the poor food quality and lack of accountability, I would not return or trust them to correct the issue.

The staff was very friendly and proficient, but the burger was subpar. It definitely was not anywhere near what the hype says it is.
