With all the national alarm surrounding salmonella and Chipotle, I was disappointed to find the food service unkept, especially with so few customers this early evening. I walked in, observed a lack of cleanliness and Brown guacamole and decided not to purchase under these circumstances. As a vegan, this was my favorite chain. Management, you can do better than this! I've seen it in the past.
I am submitting this complaint because my experience at this Chipotle today was unacceptable.
I came in shortly after the restaurant opened, and I was literally the only customer in the restaurant. Despite there being no line or rush, the young lady taking my order was rushing me, appeared irritated, and was rude throughout the interaction. She also failed to follow my instructions, which resulted in my order being prepared incorrectly.
What made the situation more frustrating was that when I tried to explain my order, she became argumentative rather than simply listening and correcting it. Going back and forth with a customer over a food order is completely inappropriate and unprofessional.
Thankfully, another employee stepped in and took over my order. His attitude was completely different. He was attentive, customer focused, listened to what I was asking for, and corrected the mistakes. He demonstrated the type of customer service I should have received from the beginning.
I strongly recommend that management address this employee’s behavior and provide additional customer-service coaching. If she is more comfortable working in food preparation or another back-of-house position, that may be a better fit, because her interaction with customers today was not friendly, professional, or welcoming.
I am not complaining simply because my order was wrong. I am complaining because of the way I was treated as a customer. I expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, especially when I am the only customer in the restaurant and am simply trying to place an order.
I hope management takes this complaint seriously and addresses the situation appropriately. Customers should not leave a restaurant feeling rushed, disrespected, or frustrated over something as simple as ordering a meal.

Good food need more work on the customer service. They are either under staff. Or dont have enough people during the rush. It can make the experience bad. Especially with people like me who only have 30 mins for lunch. I have faith that they will figure it out. Just right now is not it

So I paid with a $20 gift card that I had never used. I gave it to the cashier and she swiped it repeatedly about 4 times then said the gift card didn’t work. She put the code in and a gift card that I had never used said I owed .80 cents. I saw multiple receipts come out after she swiped my gift card, so I’m guessing the card was charged every time she swiped it. I went back to this Chipotle to tell them about the issue only to be told by employees that the gift card that I had never used before “didn’t work.” I didn’t ask for my money back or my gift card back, I just wanted an explanation and I get they were busy with orders but I felt like some investigation should’ve been done at least.
