  We had a much better experience today than previous visits. Staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit, the food was fresh and at the appropriate temperature, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was inviting. Bravo! Well done!

  We had a party for my son’s birthday. Everyone was so nice, the service was great, the restaurant was clean and the food was fresh and good! Shout out to Sam for answering all my questions and being so kind! My son had the best birthday!

  First off, this is an AYCE pizza/salad/homestyle-food buffet. So go in with that attitude and you'll be happily surprised. They offer carry out food, but I rarely see anyone coming in to order a pizza to take home with them. Think of it as a modified Cici's with pizza you can actually eat, with a game room like Chuck E Cheese. The pizza offerings are creative and generally they keep the buffet stocked so that you're not waiting on something you like to come out. You can order something at the counter that you like for them to put out on the buffet, and when it's ready, you get a buzzer to come back and get the first piece before they put it out. This particular visit, I went to the buffet line twice hoping to find my favorite garlic cheese bread sticks and they were completely empty both times. Not even a scrap left. Just a placard and an empty spot where they used to be. They appeared on my 3rd visit, so I must've just hit it at an unlucky time previously. It's hard to believe (I didn't until I tried it), but Pizza Ranch quite possibly has THE BEST fried chicken you can get anywhere! Not only is it tasty on the outside, but they must do something to the meat before they bread it to get a good flavor in the actual chicken - not just the outside. Maybe they brine it for 24 hours first? I'm not sure, but it's excellent, and I find myself eating more chicken than pizza when I visit. The service is just "meh" - what you would expect from a place staffed by a bunch of local teenagers. It's fine, but they aren't ever going to WOW you with stellar service. They go through the corporate motions and are generally polite, but they don't give off much personality. The atmosphere is pretty harsh, with bright pastel/neon colors and bright "blue" LED lighting designed to make you not want to stay as long as you might want to. It's usually pretty loud with activity and people wandering around in all directions as they don't have a buffet "line". You just step in to get what you want. Also, they cater to families with kids, so you have to deal with endless unruly children and parents who don't care to watch them. On this visit, some kid was on the floor under a table banging a knife on the metal chairs, creating a horribly obnoxious din. I turned to look at what was going on, and there they were - the parents talking at the table - and not a one of them the least bit concerned that their kid was crawling around on the floor of a buffet restaurant, creating noise that was making people turn their heads and scowl. Not a one of them did a thing to make him stop. So you're going to get that if you come here. I come here knowing that can happen, but this was the worst I've ever seen, and the staff did nothing to make it stop. If it weren't for the fried chicken, the dessert offerings (ask them to make you a cherry dessert - it's AMAZING!), and some of the pizza offerings, we wouldn't bother making the 45 minute trip to eat here occasionally.
