- SLSusan LennyApr 17, 20261.0I stopped by this Panera instead of my usual Panera (Maryland Heights) since I was out in the area and ordered the Tuesday's Baker's Dozen on 04/14/2026. I have never EVER had such a terrible experience at any Panera thus far in my life. I got blueberry bagels and the cinnamon crunch bagels. I have never received under cooked bagels, but these were it. At first when I picked up the bag, I thought the bagels looked a bit pale, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took it home. When we unpacked it, the blueberry bagels were very pale and the cinnamon crunch bagels (not pictured) looked wet on top. I took a bite out of the cinnamon crunch, and it tasted rancid!! It was the most foul off-putting taste I have ever experienced. We tried to toast one of the blueberry bagels to see if it would help cook it more, but it did not help and it had the same weird taste. I am wondering if it was the uncooked lye?? Which...is harmful to health if not treated properly!! I should also say that I ordered Rapid Pick up, so I didn't have to interact with any employee there. But when I was waiting, another customer tried to ask an employee for help and they just said "It's just us two today, we're trying". I definitely understand being short staffed, and I am not blaming them employees. But Panera also refused to offer compensation for my uncooked, dangerous if eaten bagels. The Maryland Heights location is the one to go to. Stay away from Chesterfield if possible!! Honestly I would have never expected this from an establishment in Chesterfield, but clearly I am mistaken.

The chili the last couple of times I've gotten is just runny with nothing chunky in it. I've been bragging abut that sandwich to my whole family, so sad he didn't get to try it in all of it's glory.
