  The item of the month for August 2026 is a lemon and yuzu cupcake. Learning this left me feeling intrigued, yet wary. As a person who loves the flavor of lemon, I am often left disappointed by goods that claim to be lemon-flavored. Many of these items tend to be too sweet without the sour tang of the lemon to balance it out. Why, as a society, are we so afraid of the signature sour taste of such a wonderful citrus fruit? While I have never been let down by Kolache Factory, I was a bit nervous that this might be the time that my experience would be less than satisfactory. With the same caution one would exercise when encountering a stray cat, I approached the counter to order this month's confection. I had many thoughts: "What if it's like every other lying "lemon" creation?" "What if it isn't the cupcake of my dreams?" "What if I experience another lemon-centric heartbreak?" I made my way home, where I have just tried this culinary creation. Reader, if you are still with me, let me assure you that this cupcake is a most delightful experience. The cake itself is moist and flavorful. And the lemon-yuzu topping and filling are sweet while still allowing the delightfully sour citrus to shine bright and true. It is proof that lemon and other sour citrus fruits can and should be the true star of the show. It serves as proof that other manufacturers of citrus-flavored goods are cowardly in their approach. If you are a true fan of lemon like myself, then this cupcake is an absolute must-try. If you are a baker in the St. Louis area, take note of how lemon-centric baked goods should be. This cupcake is the best cupcake I've ever had. This is a cupcake that will make you say, "Hey! Life IS good." This is a cupcake that will make you forget about the time a loved one hurt your feelings irreparably. A cupcake that brings you the strength to heal and repair damaged relationships (family, credit card company, whoever!). Please note that this item seems to be an LTO, so get it while you can. To the creative geniuses at Kolache Factory, thank you for proving that this can be done. I implore you to consider making this a more permanent item, even if only seasonal.

  I describe it as one of those places you go and you have a bunch of people but can't decide what to eat. They have all kinds of choices of kolaches but they're also like five bucks ish a piece and they're not very good quality. It's one of those situations where instead of sticking with a few really good things, you made a bunch of really mediocre things. I swear 10 years ago this place used to taste way better. Maybe it's just nostalgia

  Didn't enjoy the kolaches that much. The bread didnt taste as good as bread at St. Louis Kolache. The Korean Beef wasnt very good. Service was fine. But this restaurant is worse than St. Louis Kolache. Go there instead.

  This place is awful! Food is good however everytime we order it is wrong or missing items in order. The office I work at ordered 3x separate occasions and wrong order every time or missing items. We received a hotdog one instead of the peach desert one!? That’s just one example. We ordered a jalapeño popper one and got an egg one. This last time they gave us undercooked ones and we finally called. They stated they would refund the raw one. I stated that half the order was still incorrect and this is multiple times in a row. They stated they would refund the order and it’s been 5 days to no refund. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE AT THIS PLACE! Very disappointed because the food has good flavor but at the risk of being wrong and raw. I will not order again!
