  Had to come back and try the Kapahulu Tacos, AMAZING! Staff was great per usual! Restaurant is clean! Food is so good! Thanks Kono's!

  I went to Kono’s in Kailua mid-morning with my family and we all loved it! Ordered a burrito and it did not disappoint. The portion was great and the price matched the portions. I was full off of half the burrito and had the rest of it for my lunch later that day. The staff was friendly and the tables were clean. We will definitely be back and telling our friends about it!

  $16 for a Hawaiian bowl. It was one scope of rice and a slice of pork fat and that’s it. No slaw either.

  First …. If you open at 7 then open at 7 not 7:15 ! Nothing but complete disrespect and rudeness from the 2 ladies that were working there . I got the impression one of them was the owner. After having us wait outside she u locks the door and doesn’t say a word to us ! No acknowledgement whatsoever. So in place my order …. Still not a word . Another younger girl started making our food and pack it up and throws alot at me on the counter . I police said thank you and she just storms away . I’m big on friendly customer service and everyone in Hawaii has been so amazingly nice up until now . And fyi the food was not worth any of that !

  1). i understand locals hate tourists. but the customer service was terrible. and they weren't even locals, they were transplants. they treated us with attitude and they treated other customers with attitude too. we over heard. especially the broccoli hair dude. he didn't not care at all about any of the customers in the restaurant. 2). they had nothing. no chicken, no rice, nothing. and they were disrespectful with how they said it. they didn't say "we are out of chicken" they said "i'm not doing chicken". disrespectful. and there is a foodland across the street and yall are out of ingredients? diabolical. 3). the lack of seasoning and how dry the meat was. i had to drench my pork with bbq sauce. and the mac salad was incredibly mid. and how is water not free? 15 cents for water is insane. especially in america. yes hawaii is an american state.
