Long time diners at Huggos, on the rocks, Lava Lava, etc and have eaten here several times since they opened. Gorgeous view and nice offerings for happy hour. Dinner (both service and food) has always been inconsistent for us. I want to love this place and I just don't. Now with the new Italian menu the offerings feel even more limited. I will continue to dine here occasionally (small town/limited choices) but plan to focus on happy hour. We did recently go and it happened to be a good evening where we had a perfect table and a kind and attentive server. The food was fine but the best item we had was the pizza. The entrees were just ok.

We had such a wonderful experience at Kai Eats celebrating my grandma's birthday! The food was delicious, but what truly made the evening special was our server, Makela. She was so kind, attentive, and genuinely made my grandma feel celebrated on her special day. Her warm personality and excellent service created such a memorable experience for our whole family. We'll definitely be back!

Everything was lining up to be a great night and meal until the entrees arrived. The hostess sat us quickly with a good night time view of the ocean. Our server was very kind and fast. The appetizers and wine and mock tail we ordered had us excited for the rest of the meal. However it all fell flat when the entrees arrived. Luckily the management was nice and took it off our bills. They gave us free desserts which were also good and made our last impression a little better.

We ordered a slice of pizza to go. They said it was going to take 10 min or so to get the full pizza ready. We asked them if we could wait on one of the tables up front. They said yes. Then 5 min later another server comes up to us and asks if we are dining in, we told him we ordered a slice to go and are waiting. He said pretty rudely: this isn’t where you are supposed to wait please go to those benches on the other side of the restaurant, followed by a thank you to make himself seem kind. We waited another 20 min and had to go back up to the front to ask about our one slice of pizza. Turns out our slice was waiting in the front where we had been sitting the whole time and no one notified us. My wife had to eat something to take some medications so we asked if we could use one spot to eat the slice (small) real quick, and they replied very rudely: “this is a Togo order only” again followed by a thank you to mitigate the rudeness. Honestly felt like our presence wasn’t wanted there. Not sure why I tipped this.

I wanted to share an experience my fiancé and I had during our visit to Kai Eats around 8:30 PM Saturday night. We had chosen your restaurant for our engagement celebration because we had such an amazing experience the night before. The food was excellent, and the service was wonderful, which is why we were excited to come back. Unfortunately, our second visit was very disappointing due to the behavior of our server. At the beginning of the meal, when she came to take our order, she said, “Ladies first.” My fiancé didn’t hear her and began ordering. She responded with a snippy remark, repeating, “Ladies first.” We laughed it off and didn’t think much of it, but throughout the rest of the dinner she continued to come across as unfriendly and rude toward him. The most uncomfortable part happened when it was time to pay. She handed the payment machine to my fiancé, and he selected “no tip” on the card because he was planning to leave a cash tip afterward. Before he even had the chance, she looked at us and said, “Oh, not good service, huh?” We honestly thought she was joking at first, but then she aggressively grabbed the payment machine while he was still signing, walked away without saying anything, and gave him a dirty look. We were both caught completely off guard. We had been celebrating one of the happiest moments of our lives—our engagement—and it was disappointing for our evening to end that way. After her reaction, we no longer felt comfortable leaving a tip because of how unprofessional and disrespectful the interaction had become. I want to emphasize that this complaint is not about your restaurant as a whole. We genuinely love Kai Eats, which is why we came back for a second night. Our first experience was outstanding, and the food has been incredible both times. I wanted to bring this to your attention because I believe you would want to know when a guest has an experience like this. Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
