  The good and the bad. The ice tea with simple syrup was fresh and tasty. The strawberry shortcake was worth coming back for with fresh strawberries and cream, served on a dessert biscuit. The bad. Chicken Parma was so tough it was hard to cut and also wasn't hot. The greens served with this dish were really good. It does not come with pasta. The margarita pizza was oily and the tomatoes were tasteless, crust was perfect. As it sat it was gooey. Our server showed up with a smile after us sitting there for 15 minutes. Drinks took 10/15 more minutes. Didn't come to check after us receiving food. We tried waiting. She saw we didn't drink the mock cocktail and hadn't eaten much of the food. We mentioned the issues but something about her reaction and our overall experience up to this point made me uncomfortable with ordering something else. During this whole time, there was a large group of staffers standing at the entrance talking. No idea where our server was. We decided to order one dessert because of our experience up until this point. We were charged the full amount for everything, even when server was picking up uneaten plates. Prices are pretty fair for Hawaii if you get a more attentive server. I think our food may have been sitting, waiting to be brought to our table. The chicken parmigiana pieces were probably cooked hours ago and reheated. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. I used to love this place, however, haven't been in years. Location is great when you get hungry when shopping. Could have been great with some tweaks.

  I live on the Big Island with limited creative food options. Any time I’m in Honolulu, I love to go out to eat and explore cuisine. Ruscello has been so satisfying for me every single time. I’m sincerely impressed, and I consider myself a bit of a snob about food and drink when I’m in the mood. What impresses me most is the quality and consistency of execution, especially for Honolulu, which is often over-priced or overly gimmicky in approach from a creative stand point. The flavors are creative and delicious. The portions are spot on. The service is prompt, professional and courteous (not pretentious). The cocktails are great — fun and interesting — so much so that I don’t mind the $18 price tag at all. The atmosphere is modern and chic but very comfortable. And the cost is extremely reasonable for what you get. Case in point: I’m eating the lunch special right now. It’s a sumptuous, filling braised beef sandwich with a lovely salad. $22! That’s less than what I pay for a mediocre poke plate in Hilo served in a to go container. As I write this, I realize this is my favorite restaurant on O’ahu. I’ve worked in food and beverage for nearly 20 years. My coffee business supplies the top resorts in Hawai’i, so I’ve had plenty of exposure to the “best” food and beverage in the islands. The value for what you get here at Ruscello is unmatched. It’s a deal imho. My hat is off to the team and, especially, the leadership here. Consistently well-executed establishments like this don’t happen by chance or luck. It takes a lot of vision and planning to bring this to life and deliver such consistent results. Literally nothing has been subpar for me here. Highly, highly recommended. But don’t take my word for it. Try it yourself!

  My friend had made a reservation, so we were able to be seated right away.✨✨ The restaurant was spacious, and the night view was beautiful. The portions weren’t too big—they were just right—so I was able to finish everything. The food wasn’t exceptional, but it was pretty good.😋 I’d like to visit again the next time I’m in Ala Moana.💕 ハワイ在中のお友達に連れて行ってもらいました。 お友達が予約をしておいてくれたので、直ぐに席に着く事が出来ました✨✨ 店内は広々としていて、夜景がとても綺麗でした。お食事の量は多過ぎず、丁度良くて、完食出来ました。お味は絶品では無いけれど、そこそこ美味しい😋 また、アラモアナに来た際には伺いたいです💕
