We arrive at 1:40 and how we were greeted was not good. The lady up front was very stressed and overwhelmed and it came across to us. She said the dining room was closing now, but we could sit in there and do whatever we wanted. It was odd since they were cleaning and preparing for closing even though the signs say they close at 2:30. The conversation that the two ladies were having was definitely one that should have been kept for the back room or when no one else was there.
The food was delicious! They followed the order of how we customized our food.

Ok guys, I never write bad reviews, but this was really bad. It started with the cook... She was SO angry. I can't eat pork and she made my chicken tacos with pork and had to remake them. She was sooooooo upset that my husband offered to pay for them and she accepted. So we paid for pork tacos that we didn't want. Then, my husband tipped her, hoping it would make her happier. It didn't. I think we screwed up by not going for breakfast. My husband got the breakfast burrito and it was awesome. My daughters and I got the chicken tacos and nachos and got VERY sick after. Very sick. Stay away from the chicken.

If you’re looking for a classic North Shore breakfast stop, Kono’s absolutely deserves a visit.
I stopped in for one of their breakfast burritos, and it did not disappoint. It was hot, packed with flavor, generously filled, and easily one of the better breakfast burritos I’ve had on Oahu. The salsa was fresh and complemented the burrito perfectly without overpowering it. It’s the kind of breakfast that fuels you for a day of exploring the North Shore.
One thing that really stood out—besides the food—was their merchandise. Kono’s has some of the coolest restaurant swag I’ve seen anywhere. Their surfing pig logo is uniquely Hawaiian, fun, and instantly recognizable. I found myself spending almost as much time looking at the shirts, hoodies, stickers, and hot sauce as I did eating. If you like taking home something that reminds you of your trip, it’s worth checking out before you leave.
The location is another big plus. My recommendation is to make Kono’s a breakfast stop. Parking around Haleʻiwa can become pretty limited later in the day, but arriving in the morning makes finding a spot much easier. If the restaurant is busy and all the tables are taken, don’t worry—that might actually work in your favor. There are several beautiful beaches just a couple of minutes away where you can take your burrito, enjoy the ocean breeze, and have breakfast with one of the best views on the island. That’s exactly what I did, and it turned a great meal into an unforgettable North Shore morning.
Great food, friendly atmosphere, awesome merchandise, and an ideal location. Kono’s has earned a spot on my list of places I’ll return to every time I’m back on Oahu. Highly recommended!

The food is great, and they have plenty of options but mostly pork related. The service and atmosphere were decent. I definitely recommend.
