This was genuinely one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a McDonald’s. The manager is incredibly immature, and based on what I experienced, the staff seriously need better training and supervision.
We arrived and were told to park in spot number one to wait for our order. We did exactly that, and my car was left sitting in spot number one, waiting for an order that apparently nobody even knew existed. We ended up waiting for at least 30 minutes, if not longer, for our food to be brought out. I eventually got fed up and went inside to find out what was taking so long, only to discover that they had given my order to someone else. The employee who handed it out apparently didn’t even bother checking the person’s receipt to make sure they were receiving the correct order. How does that even happen?
Because of their carelessness, I had to go inside, show my receipt, and essentially prove that I had even placed an order in the first place. They then had to remake my food because they had already given it away. Someone basically got free food because the employees couldn’t do their jobs properly, while I was left wasting my time waiting for an order that should have been handled correctly the first time.
In total, I wasted close to an hour dealing with this ridiculous situation. What made it even worse was the attitude of the manager. Instead of handling the situation professionally and taking responsibility for what happened, she gave my mom attitude when my mom told her that she needed to discipline and properly train her employees. Honestly, she wasn’t wrong. How are employees going to hand out someone else’s food without even checking a receipt? And how is management going to respond to a situation like this with an attitude instead of accountability?
While I was inside, the manager mentioned that something had happened, and the other employees were making jokes about it, saying things along the lines of, “Someone messed up, someone messed up.” Yes, someone messed up. Someone gave away our food while we were left sitting outside waiting for it. That is not funny. It’s unprofessional, and the fact that the employees were treating the situation like a joke made the entire experience even more frustrating.
And what did the manager offer to make up for wasting nearly an hour of our time? A free pie that costs about a dollar. Seriously? After all that inconvenience, waiting, frustration, and the fact that my order had to be remade because of their mistake, a cheap pie was apparently supposed to make everything better. It was honestly insulting.
The manager’s attitude was probably the worst part of the entire experience. I genuinely don’t understand how someone who handles customers that way is in a management position. A manager should know how to handle complaints, take accountability, and make things right when their employees make mistakes. Instead, she made an already terrible experience even worse.
Overall, the service was absolutely unacceptable, the employees seemed poorly trained, and the management was even more disappointing than the service itself. I understand that mistakes happen, but there is a difference between making an honest mistake and being careless, unprofessional, and dismissive when customers are inconvenienced by it.
I will not be returning to this McDonald’s. I already wasn’t a fan of this location, and this experience completely solidified that decision. Management seriously needs to get it together, train their employees properly, and learn how to treat customers with basic respect. **An apology, accountability, and professional service would have gone a lot further than a cheap pie and an attitude.**
