I ordered a sofritas bowl, which is supposed to be plant-based tofu. While eating, I discovered a large piece of chicken at the bottom of my bowl. For anyone who avoids meat, this is a serious issue. When I went back and asked to speak with a manager, she immediately became defensive and questioned whether I had a receipt instead of apologizing. She insisted it wasn’t possible for chicken to be mixed in — despite the obvious risk of cross-contamination with open food containers and shared serving utensils. I asked what could be done to make it right, but received no apology and no real solution. I later left a detailed voicemail for the district manager and never received a call back. If you are vegan or vegetarian, I would be cautious about eating at this location. The cross-contamination risk is real, and the way this was handled made me feel blamed rather than valued as a customer.
