After 10 years in West Hollywood, Catch LA enters a new era with a renewed food-first mentality and a sharpened focus on service and experience. The restaurant debuts a refreshed design by the renowned Rockwell Group alongside an evolved menu built around its iconic seafood, steak, and sushi program, with fish flown in from Tokyo’s Toyosu Market.
Designed for a streaming, shareable style, the menu features signatures like the Catch Roll, Truffle Sashimi, and Wagyu Fried Rice alongside new additions including Grilled Shishito Peppers, Crudo di Catch, and Angry Lobster Pasta. Returning favorites like Pretzel Croissant Pull Apart Bread and Baked Lobster Mac & Cheese are reimagined, while a refined cocktail program highlights the Catch Dirty Martini, served with furikake mascarpone olives, alongside the Fluffy Margarita and Bananas Foster Old Fashioned.
Perched above the corner of Melrose and San Vicente in the heart of the West Hollywood Design District, Catch LA’s retractable rooftop offers an open-air dining room with sweeping views from Downtown Los Angeles to the Hollywood Hills, pairing the city’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle with the lively energy that has made Catch LA a destination for a decade.

I have such a mix feelings about this place. First time I went with my husband on a Saturday night, we loved everything except the service because it was sooo busy. The next time I went on a weekday with my friends I felt like the food was lacking and the atmosphere was dead. It became a disappointment and unfortunately I will not go again.

Catch LA just relaunched after a full redesign in 2026 and the updated version of it is genuinely the best the restaurant has been. The rooftop above the corner of Melrose and San Vicente has always had one of the better views in West Hollywood, a sweeping panorama from Downtown LA to the Hollywood Hills that gets better after dark when the city lights spread out below you. The refresh brought a Desert Modernism-inspired interior with warm terracotta tones, a red marble bar, and cleaner architectural lines that make the room feel more intentional than it used to.
The food has caught up with the setting. The Catch Roll is the signature sushi dish and it's the right starting point, a well-built roll that shows off the quality of the fish, which is flown in from Tokyo's Toyosu Market. The truffle sashimi is the other thing that keeps appearing at every table, clean slices of fish with that earthy truffle component that adds depth without overpowering what's underneath. The wagyu fried rice is properly indulgent, fragrant and rich in the way that only a very good wok and quality beef can produce together. And the baked lobster mac and cheese is the comfort dish that earns its place on an otherwise seafood-and-sushi-focused menu, creamy and substantial and the thing you order when you want something unmistakably satisfying. The cocktail program has been sharpened too, the Catch Dirty Martini with furikake mascarpone olives is unusual and excellent, and the Fluffy Margarita delivers what it promises. The entry experience, stepping into the elevator downstairs and being guided up to the rooftop, adds a bit of arrival drama that's a little theatrical and works completely.
Everything here is designed for sharing so ordering a range of things is the move. Budget accordingly.

I took my girlfriend to Catch LA for her birthday, and I have to say it was an unforgettable experience for both of us! The food was absolutely incredible, and the service was even better. A special thank you to Jesus, who made our evening truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us like family and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and valued. He made my girlfriend feel genuinely celebrated on her special day, and that meant so much to us.
Thank you, Jesus, and the entire Catch LA team for providing such outstanding hospitality and creating a birthday celebration we’ll always remember. We can’t wait to come back!

I think I’d rather eat my left leg than go to Catch LA again.
We had a dinner reservation at 8:15 pm and got there 10 mins after. We originally had a party of 4, but downsized to 3 and told the hostess that. 30 minutes goes by and still not seated. We ask and the hostess didn’t mark us down for 3 and they were just standing there waiting for our non existent 4th guest. Another 15 minutes goes by and we’re STILL not seated even though the hostess said she’ll prioritize us.
We finally get seated and it takes forever to be greeted. Fine whatever at least we’ll be starved by the time we get our food right?
My friend goes to the bathroom to wash up before we get our food and one of the hostesses is vaping in the bathroom… um like okay? FINALLY we get food and tell me why it tastes like every single item on everyone’s plate has been washed in the Atlantic and then dunked into a bowl of salt.
We just get through dinner feeling nauseous and get our bill that’s split in 3 ways, pay and leave.
I will say their martini was good so it adds a star to my rating.
2 days later we check our credit card statement and my friend is charged the full amount to her card, while we are charged our portion. Aka we were charged double… took forever for them to call back too but at least a refund was issued.
Next time if I want to play games before dinner I’ll just go to Chuck E. Cheese.

Extremely disappointing experience at Catch.
I made a reservation that was confirmed by phone for 7:00 PM. However, when we arrived on time, we were informed that our reservation was actually for 10:00 PM. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and resolving it professionally, we were told they would “try to find a table.”
After waiting for 30 minutes with no update, I approached the staff to check on the status. Once again, I was told that my booking was originally at 10:00 PM and that they were still looking for an available table. There was no apology, no accountability, and no genuine effort to rectify what was clearly an error on their side.
The lack of organization was frustrating, but what made the experience worse was the dismissive and rude attitude. Customers should not be left waiting indefinitely because of a reservation mistake made by the restaurant.
A reservation is supposed to provide certainty and convenience, not confusion and wasted time. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrated poor customer service, poor communication, and a complete lack of respect for guests’ time.
I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant based on the way we were treated.
