I had a great experience here! The staff was super friendly and kept us updated while we waited for our food, which made the visit even better. I ordered the Shrimp New Orleans, and it was seriously delicious. The shrimp paired perfectly with the flavorful rice and spicy sauce. The dark sauce looked a little intense at first, but the taste was amazing and full of flavor. I’d definitely come back and order this dish again.

Tonight we had the absolute pleasure of being taken care of by Cam (Cameron) at Bubba Gump, and WOW. Give this guy a raise before another restaurant steals him. From the moment we sat down, Cam was operating three steps ahead of us the entire meal. He wasn't just attentive—he anticipated things we didn't even realize we needed until he mentioned them. Every single time it was, "Oh my gosh... yes, actually, we DO need that." We were a party of five with two kids, which can easily become chaotic, and Cam made the entire experience feel effortless. Drinks never sat empty, food came out perfectly, requests were handled before we even had to ask, and he somehow managed to be constantly present without ever hovering. That level of awareness is incredibly rare. Great service is someone who responds quickly. Exceptional service is someone who prevents you from ever needing to ask in the first place. Cam absolutely falls into that second category. We also wanted to make sure his manager, Dan (yes... Lieutenant Dan 😆), knew what an incredible job Cam is doing. Employees like him are the reason people come back to a restaurant. If you're lucky enough to get Cam as your server, congratulations—you've already won dinner. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easily one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in a long time.

For $30 me and my friend bought a pound of Cajun shrimp to share as an appetizer. It is not hard at all to devein a shrimp and I assumed if I were paying more than triple the price of a pound of shrimp at a store here it would have been handled by a competent chef. I didnt think twice before eating the shrimp. On the last two shrimp instead of eating one whole after peeling the shell I was lazy and took a bite down the middle of the shrimp exposing an unveined shrimp fecal tract. I reported it to my server and he said "It happens sometimes when the chef misses one" and he joked that is was "extra nutrition" *I nearly hurled at this gross statement*. Before my friend ate his final shrimp we checked and sure enough more unveined shrimp fecal tracts. That was 2/2 shrimp with fecal tracts intact. We might as well have eaten 100% unveined shrimp. I called my waiter again and he took it to his manager. I was disgusted to find out that the greedy manager came up to us and offered 10% off the meal instead of just cutting the shrimp from our total price. You served us fecal matter and have the audacity to still charge for serving us feces? This establishment is in Universal... Greedy horrible service. If you charge shrimp at a fancy price that cant be properly made then dont sell it at all. Me and my friend had stomach problems all night and puked! 🤮

Discrimination against customers based on physical disabilities and race. I have been looking forward to trying Bubba Gump ever since we saw the location at Santa Monica Pier. Noticed the location at Universal Studios City Walk and were excited to dine after concluding our day at the theme park. My wife called ahead earlier while at the park to confirm the availability of tables and the time of last seating. She was told it had been a slower day comparatively and that seating would be available until 9:40pm, which is the cut off. We arrived at the restaurant promptly at 9:25pm and approached the host stand behind a larger party of 8 which was offered patio seating. Our party of 5 was told that seating was not available because waiters had left for the evening (despite a lot of diners and several waiters bustling about, with several open tables also available on the patio that we could see). My wife mentioned that she had called, but the hostess "Osiris" just said sorry and dismissed us telling us to try 3 restaurants nearby, however two had already closed at 9pm. This would have been the end of it, if my eldest son and I hadn't seen Osiris seat several other parties of 4 or more as we stood nearby contemplating another dining option. This location does not take reservations, so these customers were walk ups just like us. For context, I was on my mobility scooter since I am handicapped, but it has a small footprint and I could have parked it directly outside the patio from a table. We did see her turn away one other party of 4 and they only had one thing in common with us, skin color. The parties she choose to seat were skin colors other than ours. I decided to walk past her in search of a manager and after a polite request to a server, spoke with the manager Dan. I explained our experience and pointed out the hostess that Dan identified as Osiris and asked him if we were declined service because of my mobility scooter. He told me that was not the case. I asked if our skin color was the issue. Dan stated neither was the reason and that there was no reason at all that she shouldn't have seated us as several tables were available and wait staff had not left for the evening. Dan did offer us a table at that time, however we ended up declining the table and eating at another restaurant nearby where my wife and other 2 kids were already seated and waiting on us after being turned down service here. Dan assured us that if we decided to return the following day after lunch that he would ensure we were taken care of. The question is, should you have to request a manager or name drop him the following day just to receive fair and equal treatment? I already bought a T-shirt and baseball cap at the Santa Monica location, but now I kind of wish that I could take them back. I do not want to promote a company that treats people differently based on disability or skin color. Very ironic considering the movie franchise that showcased Forrest and Bubba's friendship that crossed racial divides and how it approached physical and intellectual disabilities.
