Lazy Dog service has always been excellent elsewhere, but the service here was a failure, due to one specific server. Everything started well, great even. Then they switched servers on is and we got someone who didn't understand customer interaction, such as when the customer mentions that their order looks wrong, for just one example. It required going to the kitchen to find a manager since the server didn't take time to find out what was wrong.
The food was up to the usual great standards, and the environment was fine.

I went at the time of the happy hour. So I found good value for money. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Nicely laid restaurant, well decorated.

My husband and I went there to go eat with another couple. Unfortunately 3 of the four plates came back with cold food. However, the server and the manager were very apologetic...plated us new warm meals and also took 50% off the bill. Im not sure as I would go back but only because the food seemed processed. However service was AAA++++

Some meals are good. Some meals turn into a whole vibe. This was the second one.
Met up with my longtime crew (we go all the way back to our Marymount days), and lately we’ve been hitting the “classic” chain spots around LA. Lazy Dog at Del Amo might’ve just jumped near the top of that list.
The atmosphere hits that sweet spot. Warm, cozy, a little lodge energy, but still casual enough to settle in and stay awhile. No rush, no noise overload, just good energy.
Now let’s talk about Bethany. She was on it. The kind of service where you don’t have to ask twice… or at all. I ordered a Diet Coke and she casually mentioned they also have Coke Zero. I was like, oh, we’re paying attention paying attention. From there, she guided the whole experience without hovering. Elite balance.
Food? No notes. I went with the BBQ Ranch Bacon Burger and lemon pepper tater tots… absolutely the right decision. The table had Protein Crunch Bowls and the Ginger Soy Salmon in the mix, and not a single plate survived. The only thing left was a very intentional “I’ll eat this tomorrow” portion.
And dessert? Banana pudding. Done. No debate. No regrets.
I hadn’t been to this location in a minute, but yeah… I’ll be back. Soon.
