We were ordering food for most of our group, while only two participants had packed lunches that contained chicken nuggets. The restaurant was very busy, and we were fortunate to get the last two available tables. After placing our order, I politely asked an employee if they could heat up the two participants' packed lunches. She explained that they were not allowed to heat outside food, but that we were still welcome to dine in. I appreciated her polite response and understood the policy. However, after we had already been seated, the manager approached us and initially said, with an attitude, that she thought she had already spoken to us about bringing in outside food. I was confused because this was our first visit to this location. She then realized she had mistaken us for a different program, explaining that they have many groups come in. The manager then told us we would need to leave because of the restaurant's no outside food policy, stating it was due to food allergy concerns. While I understand that businesses have policies they need to follow, it was frustrating because the only outside food was two packed lunches containing chicken nuggets in a chicken restaurant. The way the situation was handled made us feel unwelcome, especially after an employee had already told us we were welcome to dine in with the lunches. The interaction left me feeling overwhelmed, and I completely lost my appetite. I ended up taking my meal home instead of eating it there. When I got home, I discovered that the sandwich I had ordered had mold on it. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Between being told we could stay, then being asked to leave, feeling unwelcome, and receiving a moldy sandwich, I had a horrible experience.
