- JGJohn Gonzales1 day ago5.0GRAND OPENING today (6.24.26) and got to experience the beautiful NEW Safeway in South City with smiley workers, well-stocked shelves with perfect front-facing labels, and Costco-style sample handouts. Parking was rough at ~4 pm, expectely, but they had a duo of security guards directing traffic. This store has 90 minutes of free parking on the first level, with the shopping floor on the second level. I sampled some Signature sparkling water from an Safeway ice sculpture and found myself nodding my head to the the DJ blasting 2000s hits in the corner by the Floral section. Even got a Grand Opening scratcher where I get $1 off my next trip. I'll be back for sure, but I'm going to wait for the hype to die down some. This was definitely a VIBE though ❤️🔥
