  This is in regards to the manager with slicked, medium-length hair wearing a black polo shirt on a Saturday, May 16th, 2026 around 9:30 pm. He gave so much attitude, belittled us, slandered us, for a simple refund mistake that his register, Kylie, made. Listen, if we’re coming at you peacefully and asking you to correct a simple mistake, there is no need for all the sarcastic, defamatory comments. It’s disgusting that this is the type of character that is being put in position of authority in a large corporation. We received much better service from employees at the MacDuffs pub and Elements bar down the street (maybe he should study their manners and learn some things). If he treats his customers this way, I wonder how the employees get treated. For the sake of of the company’s reputation, hopefully he gets investigated soon; something needs to change with whatever culture he’s decided to implement for this store.

  I went to Safeway to Buy a product and get cash back to purchase lottery tickets after getting my cash back I realized that the Machine does not give back change I had a 20.00 dollar bill , When I asked the cashier for change , You would have thought I was ROBBING the Place She Lost it started freaking out then contacted a manager , Who OK'ed it . What Happened to Customer Service ?

  I love shopping here! The produce is always fresh and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Plus, they have a great selection of local products that make grocery shopping more enjoyable!

  Worst experience ever i have lived in south lake for 25 years and have been going to this Safeway all this time today i went to ask for a money order i have bought this before here due to me having to get them to pay rent i forgot my wallet in the car so i told the customer service lady i needed a money order for $3400 she said she needed 2 forms of IDs my daughter had her ID and her debit card so we asked her if those would work she said no so i had my daughter go get my wallet and i told the service lady that i had mine she said she could not sell ys the money order i asked the reason and she said because the first person didnt have her 2 ids i explained to her that i did si i could show her mine and that i was already in the system she refused to sell it and i asked for a manager she said she was the manager i asked if there was someone else she called another lady when the other manager arrived she said they could not sell me the money order because the first person didnt have her IDs i said but i do and i need to pay my rent it was going to be late i had gone two other days in a row but i could not get it because western union was closed those 2 days and now they are open but refused to sell me a money order i asked her if walked out and came vack in if she would sell it to me she said no i said ok if i come back later and there is another worker can i buy a money order she said no because its the same woman that works the counter every day then another worker came and kicked us out of the store and said we needed to leave because customers were getting upset and we refuse to give you service so leave now it was embarrassing and humiliating to be treated that way especially when we were not doing anything wrong

  I wanted to share a heartfelt thank you to the team at Safeway in Lake Tahoe for helping us during a really stressful moment. We had driven all the way from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe for our gender reveal trip. Unfortunately, the cake didn’t survive the long drive—it got damaged from being in the fridge too long and the bumpy road. I was honestly so sad and didn’t know what to do since this cake meant a lot to us. By the time we arrived (around 4–5 PM), many local bakeries were already closed. One kind bakery we visited couldn’t help due to limited supplies, but they suggested we try Safeway. That turned out to be the best decision. When we got there, one of your staff members kindly helped us and connected us with a baker named Tiara (I may have the name slightly wrong). She was incredibly kind and went out of her way to fix our cake. She didn’t accept any tips and only charged us for the cream she used. Her willingness to help, especially on such short notice, truly meant so much to me and my husband. Thanks to her, our cake looked so much better and we were still able to have a beautiful and special gender reveal moment. I’m so grateful for the kindness and professionalism your team showed us. It really reflects how well your staff are trained and how much they care about customers. This experience meant a lot to us, and I will always remember it. Thank you again Tiara and Safeway sincerely. 🥹🩵🙏
