  Paper bags that tear almost immediately and don’t have handles….one more reason to shop somewhere else. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods at least sell you high quality paper bags with handles so you can carry groceries if on foot. Von’s doesn’t care and has crazy high prices to boot.

  For a small locale it has a lot of items that are out of stock at other stores. Produce was very fresh and staff was super friendly and helpful, cashier ANA was extra helpful and deserves a mention for her excellent and exceptional service. Her bagger was great also but I didn't get her name. I saved a good chunk of money also.

  Great local vons store has a little bit of everything you need. This store is a little older and can feel a little cramped at times but overall is clean and organized. The parking lot is pretty decent and easy to get in and out of.

  I had a deeply upsetting experience at this Vons today. After paying for every item at the self-checkout and exiting the store, I was approached by a manager and another employee who did not identify herself. They accused me of leaving without paying for all of my items and made me re-enter the store. After checking my receipt, they quickly realized that I had, in fact, paid for everything. The manager later apologized, but by then the damage had been done. At that point, I asked them to refund my entire purchase because I no longer wanted to support a store that treated me this way. While I waited for the refund, the employee who made the accusation avoided me and stood out of sight behind a refrigerated display. She refused to approach me, acknowledge her mistake, or offer an apology. Based on how I was singled out and treated, I believe this incident was racially motivated and that I was profiled. I have continued shopping here despite a litany of previous poor customer-service experiences, and this incident was simply the icing on the cake. Every year I purchase turkeys from this location to help feed approximately 50 families from SMMUSD schools. However, I will not tolerate being falsely accused or racially profiled. This experience was humiliating, unacceptable, and deeply disappointing. I hope Vons will take this incident seriously, address what happened, and do better for everyone in the community.
