Great store, nice to have a large grocery store downtown. The big issue is that since plastic bags have been banned this specific store refuses to carry paper bags with handles like every other store in California. Just get the bags with handles, please.

Its 2026 and this store which sits under Albertsons, a publicly traded company and cannot handle a simple complaint.. nor do they even have a form. Employees scramble to avoid, confuse and pervert documented information and acquiense to providing a safe experience for shoppers, kids, the elderly and vulnerable populations. With all the money spent and taken in, this is asinine behavior defending security personnel who created a hostile environment and illicitly ignore requests of the state. Also you'll notice when u walk in there the floors are VERY slippery. This overall malfeasance and reluctance to handle disputes and play victim erode investors and shareholder positions, and create a unpleasant situations and habitats in our community. If I can take a picture with my phone and create a video game, a multi million dollar store should be handle to have decency, dignity and respect for our community.

I walked into Starbucks, but to get out, you have to walk all the way around the store.

My profound disappointment regarding a recent experience at the hot food department. As a frequent patron of this establishment, particularly due to its convenient location near my workplace, I have generally held this store in high regard, and my interactions with your staff have typically been positive. However, an incident on Saturday, August 8th, presented a stark contrast to my usual experience with the following employees : San Yon, and Steve Upon approaching the hot food counter, I waited approximately three minutes while two employees were present. While I was initially engaged in selecting my meal and am accustomed to a brief wait for acknowledgment, the situation escalated when one employee, who was preparing sushi, addressed me in what was as an aggressive tone, and attitude stating, "You need to ring the bell in order for someone to come help you." This sudden and confrontational remark was both unexpected and unprofessional. My subsequent request to speak with a department manager appeared to agitate this employee further. During my conversation with the manager, the same employee repeatedly interjected, exhibited a disrespectful demeanor, and continued to make unprofessional comments, thereby disrupting my attempt to convey my concerns privately and constructively. Adding to this unfortunate situation, another employee, identified as Steve, emerged from the back of the store and interjected into my discussion with the manager. He directly contradicted my account of events, despite not having been present during the initial interaction at the counter. His unsolicited intervention further exacerbated the discomfort and unprofessionalism of the entire exchange. The cumulative effect of these interactions has left me profoundly dissatisfied. The level of customer service I received on this occasion was entirely unacceptable and falls significantly short of the standards I would expect from any establishment. I will no longer be patronizing this store. I believe that such experiences directly undermine customer loyalty and reflect poorly on Vons brand

Avoid this Vons. It is, without question, one of the worst run grocery stores I have ever stepped foot in. This store is a complete failure from top to bottom, and the responsibility starts with management. There is no leadership, no accountability, no urgency, and no pride in running this store. It is painfully obvious that the management team is incapable of running a successful grocery store. The store rots from the head down, and this location is proof of that. The entire management team should be replaced. They are poorly trained, unable to execute even the most basic responsibilities of running a grocery store, and have turned this location into an embarrassment for the Vons brand. The female manager, E, never orders products that customers repeatedly request. Basic grocery staples are constantly out of stock, yet nothing is ever done to correct the problem. She promises to call customers back with updates and never does. If you ask for a product to be ordered, don’t expect anything to happen. Customer requests are ignored while shelves continue to sit empty. Only a few items in the pharmacy section are locked behind glass, but even that is a complete disaster. It is unacceptable that customers routinely wait at least ten minutes for someone to unlock a case because management has failed to properly train and supervise its employees. Something that should take thirty seconds turns into an unnecessary ordeal every single time. The pharmacy staff are rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping customers. The sanitation and safety problems are even worse. I personally witnessed a homeless man with feces running down his legs and his pants soiled with feces from top to bottom walking through the store, opening food, eating chicken directly out of the package, and then walking out without paying. One security guard did try to get him to leave, but there was very little he could do. That is not the guard’s failure. That is management’s failure. I also witnessed homeless individuals touching open bakery, grocery, and sushi items that other customers were expected to purchase. The smell from some individuals can overwhelm entire sections of the store. My frustration is not with homeless people. My frustration is with Vons management. Customers deserve a clean, sanitary, and safe place to shop. Instead, management has allowed this store to become chaotic, unsanitary, and uncomfortable. Security is ineffective because management has failed to create an environment where employees can maintain even basic cleanliness and safety standards. The outside of the store is just as bad. The entrance is filled with panhandling, loitering, and trash. It sets the tone before you even walk through the doors. It is an uncomfortable place to shop. The online ordering and delivery service is another complete failure. Orders are inaccurate. Produce arrives bruised, moldy, rotten, or dented. Communication is virtually nonexistent. Drivers regularly fail to deliver groceries to apartment doors, instead leaving them on the front sidewalk or literally next to the trash cans in the alley, where they sit in the hot sun. Need assistance? Don’t waste your time calling. Nobody answers the phone. If someone finally does answer, expect to be transferred from one department to another without anyone taking ownership or solving the problem. Every department in this store reflects the same problem. Poor leadership. Poor training. Poor execution. There is no accountability because there is no competent management. This location has become an embarrassment to the Vons brand. Until corporate replaces the entire management team, retrains its employees, and restores basic standards of cleanliness, customer service, and accountability, nothing will improve. I will never shop here again, and I strongly encourage anyone who values cleanliness, food safety, and competent customer service to spend their money somewhere else.
