  I'm local to LA, and hadn't been here in a while, and found the food rather disappointing. We came so that we could eat on the Pier with a visitor. The atmosphere and location are lots of fun, of course. The food took FOREVER to arrive, around 45 mins after we ordered! Our waitress was super nice and did come around to apologize (but only after we waited a good 30 mins). We asked if they could bring out the chowder since we assumed that was already prepared and it came out lukewarm as if it'd be sitting around for a while. Rather pricey for what you get, too. Go for the movie theme and location, not necessarily for the food.

  Sensacional local, com drinks excepcionais, boa comida e valor muito honesto pelo que oferece (e que não mudou ao longo dos anos). Atendimento muito gentil por parte do garçom Tomás. Se trata de um ambiente icônico, com toda simbologia do filme Forrest Gump. Possui acessibilidade, através de elevadores e tampas. O cardápio é variado, com foco em frutos do mar, porém há comida para todos os gostos. Pretendo voltar outras vezes.

  I wasn't expecting much. Tourist restaurants usually survive on location, not quality. I figured I'd pay too much for average food and leave feeling like I'd checked another box. I was completely wrong. The moment I walked in, I could tell this place was different. The entire restaurant feels like stepping into Forrest Gump without being cheesy. Sitting above the Pacific Ocean with the Santa Monica Pier buzzing outside is a view that honestly never gets old. The staff absolutely made the experience. They were funny, welcoming, and genuinely looked like they enjoyed working there. The famous "Run Forrest Run" and "Stop Forrest Stop" signs on the table weren't just a gimmick—they actually made getting service effortless and added to the fun. Yes, it's busy. Of course it is. It's one of the most iconic spots on the Santa Monica Pier. Expect a wait during peak hours. And yes, you're paying tourist prices—but honestly, between the atmosphere, the ocean views, the service, and the quality of the food, I walked away feeling alright 10/10. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

  My family walked up to the front entrance around 4pm on Thursday afternoon and got a table immediately. At first our waiter Tristan seemed to be pleasant but as the service went on he forgot many things, including our drinks, and even main dishes. My food was cold by the time it got brought out because he forgot to bring mine and my daughters out. My salmon was barely warm, rice and broccoli were cold and my grilled shrimp was cold as the wind. I could deal with the cold food but the shrimp was hard since it was significantly cold. I got his attention and asked for new shrimp. He apologized and said he put a new order in and will take my dish off the bill for the inconvenience. After my bill was brought out, not only was my dish still on the bill, the extra shrimp was on the bill as well. After informing Tristan of that, he brought the bill back and only the shrimp was taken off. At this point I was so disappointed in my first experience at this restaurant, I just wanted to leave. I spent over $240 and then at the end I was also forced to pay a an 18% gratuity tip since my wife and I have 6 kids. Sorry but the service was no where near my expectations and the food was over priced for the amount of food given and I wish it was a better experience. Don’t get me wrong, Tristan was an ok waiter, and might have just had an off day, but the overall experience was unfortunately subpar.

  Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. has been an annual tradition for me and my kiddo, but man, this recent visit was a massive letdown. I travel year-round and eat out constantly, so I know kitchens have off nights. To be fair, the staff was great—they were friendly and really trying. But that's where the positives end. The food was absolutely terrible. I ordered a combo with fish and chips and fried shrimp, and the entire plate came out cold. The fries were totally rubbery, and you could just tell the shrimp had been cooked hours in advance and left dying under a heat lamp. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve had better shrimp and fries from the buffet line at Golden Corral. My daughter got a shrimp platter (coconut shrimp, etc.) and hers was exactly the same. To make matters worse, the atmosphere was chaotic and incredibly loud. We literally couldn't hear each other talking across our own table. Between the blaring music and the staff constantly yelling, it was unbearably loud. Between the awful food and the deafening noise, it’s going to be really hard to justify coming back to keep our tradition going next year. Huge bummer.
