I gave this place a 1 star because there wasn’t anything lower. When a customer comes in to an establishment the first thing that comes to mind is a bathroom stop. Today that was the case. I asked for the code to employees that were not occupied (all employees were standing around except for the cashier who was taking orders). They responded with customers only which I understand entirely. There were five people waiting for service but o couldn’t hold it any longer. I explained that there were lots of people In front of me and that I couldn’t hold it until the person In front of me got rung up. Eventually the cashier felt bad and gave it up. He’s the reason why they get a star. It was the Oscar the fish lady in the back who thinks that people don’t use the restrooms but I bet she spends most of her shift in there. Employee of the month goes to Doris with poorly lip injections.

I haven't had Five Guys in over 13 years. The first time I tried Five Guys was in Sacramento and I absolutely hated it! But this location in Santa Cruz hit the spot! The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and the grilled onions, fresh tomatoes, lettuce and pickles were great additions that complimented the burger very well. Way better than The Habit! We ordered online/delivery and there was a special buy one cheeseburger get one free. You can't beat that! I highly recommend this Five Guys.

What is the Five Guys story/How did you guys get your name?
Five Guys began its pursuit to redefine the global burger landscape in 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell asked three of their sons whether they wanted to start a business or go to college. Now, three decades after our first location opened in Arlington, Va., Five Guys – a fast-casual restaurant chain named for the Murrells' five sons – serves a classic take on hamburgers, fries and milkshakes in more than 1,700 locations across 24 countries.
You can read more about the story of Five Guys at www.FiveGuys.com!
How many restaurants does Five Guys have?
As of January 2026, we have more than 1,900 locations in over 24 countries!
Does Five Guys offer delivery?
Most North American locations offer delivery. The best way to find out if the location nearest to you offers delivery is to visit our website or download the app.
Additionally, we work with all major third-party delivery companies in the U.S., including DoorDash and Uber, so feel free to search for Five Guys through their platforms!
Does Five Guys offer gluten-free options?
The only products we offer that contain gluten are our buns, hot dogs (Canada only), HP sauce (UK only), and the malt vinegar condiment for our fries. In Canada, our Poutine Gravy condiment also contains gluten. All of our sandwiches, including burgers, hot dogs and the veggie sandwich, are available without a bun via our wrap or bowls.
While our crew members do all they can to avoid it, there is always a risk of cross-contamination. Please review our nutritional, ingredient and allergen chart for the most accurate information.
Why does Five Guys have peanuts for free?
Serving peanuts for free began as a way for people to pass the time while they waited for us to cook up their meals (way back in the day, before smartphones). It was such a hit, and has become such a Five Guys tradition, that we keep our stores stocked with peanuts to this day.
What is the best way to reheat leftover fries?
Leftover fries are excellent reheated in the oven (or Air Fryer). According to Chad Murrell, one of the Five Guys, just pop them in a 350-degree oven for about 10-15 minutes.
Also, give those leftover fries a try as hash browns, home fries, or even as the filling in an omelet.
Why is Five Guys switching from a fry cup to a fry bag?
We are switching to fry bags to ensure your fries stay fresher and as part of our larger commitment to the environment. The bags allow air to circulate better, so fries stay fresh during delivery and takeout. Same portions, same great fries – just smarter packaging that’s also better for the environment.
