  1 year later (2026) and I strongly stand by my rating and remarks that I expressed and shared in 2025. #1 BEST Pharmacy team in the country. I have been all over the US and I have experienced many different pharmacies and not one pharmacy team has provided the continued high level service engagement with such professionalism, kindness and overall supportive commitment as the Safeway Rivermark Plaza Pharmacy team. I look forward each and every time I enter that store to swing by the Pharmacy and say, "Hello", even if I have no prescription business for that day. No matter what there day might be or what challenges their facing they all, every one of them behind the pharmacy counter, lights up with a warm smile and a pleasant greeting. They make me feel valued and the medicines I require for my health needs a priority without exception. I applaud you all, I thank you and appreciate you for all you do in a demanding environment that sometimes can be blind to your efforts and so unforgiving in spite of your perseverance in rising to each day's service challenges to meet our health needs. You're the BEST!

  This Safeway was exceptionally clean. Customer service was impressive. I also loved how well organized the produce section was—found everything I needed without too much trouble. Wish my Safeway in San Diego operated the same way.

  I had a good experience at Safeway and appreciated being able to handle a full grocery run in one stop. The broad mix of fresh produce, pantry staples, household goods, bakery items, and prepared foods makes it convenient for both planned shopping and last-minute needs. I also like having familiar brands alongside everyday essentials. The visit was straightforward and efficient, and the store served exactly the purpose I needed. A dependable neighborhood grocery option that I would happily use again.

  Understaffed. This is my local Safeway and honestly shopping here is terrible. The staff are perfectly friendly but the lines are always very long and they never have enough registers open. It takes too long! No one wants to spend hours waiting in line every week. We want to get out and go home to our family. At rush hour it's a nightmare. I have been charged the wrong amount more than once, and since the customer service counter is not staffed after about 6pm, I was asked to get back in line again to resolve the issue. I had frozen goods and couldn't wait that long. I tried submitting feedback to their texting number but they 'could not receive my message after hours.' Nonsense. Today I saw a rotten onion with tons of flies circling. Given that everything is so overpriced you'd think they could staff the store properly.
