Edit: I am trying to be kind and gracious, but honestly, this manager literally yelled at me for no reason and was embarrassing and aggressive to me in front of other customers. I actually let a family with children cut ahead of me before the interaction and am glad because imagine if children were nearby and behind me while this woman literally yelled at me while I was asking 'can you please help check the balance of these cards' and she snaps at me out of nowhere. That's also why I am taking time to make this review by name. Never seen anything like this from staff here.
Horrible customer service by front end manager Imelda Estrada.
I have stipend gift cards from a govt supervised program which brand new said 'not authorized' when I used them to pay for groceries (no alcohol nor tobacco).
Imelda was dismissive, seemed annoyed at helping me. I used 2 brand new gift cards and they both wouldn't authorize.
I then asked Imedla to please help check the balance simply instead of running the purchase, if she could simply help and check.
Imelda refused, got angry even spun around the PoS angrily to point and show me. I asked calmly to please help me check the balance instead of running the purchase, just check it.
She refused to double check it, and said the gift cards have nothing on them. I asked why she is refusing to help me just simply check the balance - she said she didn't have to, that she knows there's no balance and the card isn't in their system.
I wouldn't have written the review if her attitude weren't so dismissive and annoyed at me, even showing some anger when I asked for help checking the balance. And she actually refused to check the balance for a gift card with Safeway's name on.
I've been a customer here for years and have never had an experience like this. Imelda Estrada was unkind to me instead of simply helping.

Very disappointing experience at this Safeway.
I came in to buy 20 bags of ice and asked the employee at self-checkout if there was a way to scan them without lifting and scanning every bag individually. He told me I had to scan them one by one.
I then went to a regular checkout lane, where another employee simply scanned one bag and adjusted the quantity, making the process quick and easy.
I later found out the self-checkout employee ((Asian gentleman with long hair )) was actually the store manager was actually the store manager. It's disappointing that a manager either didn't know how to help or wasn't willing to help. Managers should set the example for good customer service.
I hope corporate finds stronger leadership for this store. After this experience, I won't be returning to this location and will think twice before shopping at Safeway again.

An incredibly rude delivery associate brought my pick up order to my vehicle. The first words he said to me, were “you know you’re supposed to be here before 10 right? I don’t even know how you did this….. I’m going to give you your order this time…” no hello no hi, not an ounce of politeness or explaining the big crime I committed by arriving at Safeway to pick up my order at 10:20 instead of before 10 PM for which, I had no notification whatsoever neither from the app nor any other source that I was supposed to arrive before 10 PM. This was an incredibly rude and abusive customer service associate.

This safeway is my go to and has been for quite a while now! Always very friendly staff and always lots of restocking activity so will never find an empty shelf. Best of all every area has always someone available willing to help with your needs. During lunch/peak hours it can get really packed specially with all the different delicious "food ready" options available and you may need to make a line but with how awesome the employees move it wont be a long wait. Really recommend this Safeway to anyone. PSA: Also keep an eye open if you are a 49er fan as it's also go to Safeway for most players.

I am very disappointed by the way I was treated at your facility today around 8:00 PM.
My spouse and I are new to the area and were purchasing a battery when we found a locker that was already unlocked. The locker showed no signs of damage, and there was nothing indicating that it should not be used.
An employee approached us and questioned us in a manner that made us feel as though we had done something wrong or were attempting to steal. This was completely inappropriate and extremely uncomfortable.
If a locker is left unlocked, that is a facility issue, not a customer issue. As first-time visitors, we had no way of knowing there was a special rule regarding an already open locker. A professional employee should politely explain the policy instead of making customers feel accused or suspicious.
Being new to the state does not mean we should be treated with disrespect. What should have been a simple and pleasant visit was negatively impacted by an employee’s rude and unprofessional attitude.
I hope management addresses this issue and reminds staff that customers deserve to be treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism.
