Great food, lousy service. Terrible communication amongst the staff and with the customer. We made a reservation, arrived on time, but for the first 5 minutes we were awkwardly standing in the middle of the floor as we were shuffled from table to table. We were one of the first groups too, plenty of open tables! The bartender kept saying, “not that table, it’s reserved” going back and forth with the waiter on where we could sit. The bartender then tucked us in the corner when there was nicer open table we wanted next to the window that wasn’t reserved. Shouldn’t everyone have the game plan before people arrive, especially with advance notice (i.e. a reservation)? The food was great but took forever. Everyone’s dishes arrived after 45 minutes and it wasn’t that busy. My dish took about 80 minutes and it was just bolognese. Apparently my order was never received due to a glitch in their system, but we had to ask twice before we found out what happened. A side note, historically at Arrivederci if you ordered pasta, they’d come by your table offering pepper and cheese. It was inconsistent this time. When we’d ask for something, they’d seemingly disappear with no solution in sight. Curious to know why service was so slow, I looked up and saw the staff running around in disorganized chaos, especially when more customers started shuffling in. Tables were being served left and right out of order. Wanting to finish up our meal, I eventually walked over to the bartender and asked to see the dessert menu. I saw him grab the menu then pass it onto another waiter to hand to us. What’s confusing was the same bartender served us our desserts 40 minutes later. We asked the bartender for some small plates to share the deserts we ordered, he acknowledged and ran back to the bar but nothing happened. Who’s serving who and who’s doing what now? We were wondering if today was their off day but the table next to us mentioned they had similar issues on a separate occasion. We even saw other tables get impatient with the staff and walk to them asking for bread and menus. Overall, we ended up waiting 2 hours and 30 minutes. I’ve been to other great restaurants with fewer staff and they still turn around tables within an hour. Strong commitment, management, organization, and communication in those places is what drives their success. The staff at Arrivederci were seemingly all over the place, and they never told us what was going on or apologized for the delay. That was very strange. Arrivederci used to be a great place to eat but if their service can’t live up to expectations, it’s not worth visiting anymore for the high price you have to pay.

A place we wanted to like, clean and a pretty dinning room but the service was incredibly slow. Just painful both times.

Cafe Arrivederci was easy to find. Easy to park and easy to get seated. The menu has a lot of attractive options and we were very much looking forward to dinner. Service was excellent and I wish I could say the same for the food. We ordered the pulled-pork special and also a seafood special. Both were disappointing. The pulled pork should have been fork tender and instead required a steak knife - which we had to ask for just to be able to slice the very tough pork. Having to saw a $26 entree is just wrong. The Seafood special did have a tasty sauce, but it came off as a heap of pasta with chunks of seafood. There were four of us and for more than $200, it should have been a more special dinner than it was. We were looking forward to adding another local restaurant to our list of regulars. Pass...
