I have never had an experience this bad at any Taco Bell before.
I ordered four Chalupas and two Fiesta Potatoes through the self-order kiosk for takeout. I also paid extra for add-ons to the Chalupas.
When I got home, which is less than 2 miles away (about a 5-minute drive), I discovered that all four Chalupas were cold, as if they had come straight from a refrigerator and not heated well or were heated very unevenly. To make matters worse, none of the paid add-ons I ordered were included.
The Fiesta Potatoes were even more disappointing. They were burnt, tasted bitter, and seemed that had been re-fried to warm them up.
I immediately called the restaurant, provided my order number, and explained the situation. The employee offered to remake the food if I came back. By that point, however, we had already lost our appetite because of the poor quality, so I requested a refund instead.
I was told to bring the food back to the restaurant so they could process the refund. After driving back, I was informed that because I had placed the order through the self-service kiosk, they couldn't issue a refund. I also tried to understand why I had been served cold food and why the paid add-ons were missing. Instead of listening to my concerns, the staff insisted that the food became cold during my 5-minute drive home on a warm summer day, which simply wasn't believable.
At that point, I realized there was no point continuing the conversation. I threw the food away in front of them and left extremely frustrated.
The food quality was unacceptable, the order was inaccurate, and the customer service was dismissive. It felt like this location has poorly trained kitchen staff and an unprofessional front-end team. I hope the owner or franchise manager looks into these issues because this experience was completely different from the consistently good service I've received at other Taco Bell locations.
